Tune In, Turn On, Drop Cloth

First, before we get to the Drop Cloths, this is my first attempt at lace knitting. I know where the problems are, but think I have the fear conquered and am ready to tackle another project now that I know I have to do it in brilliant light, complete silence, and on a full stomach. Thanks so much to my great friend for the gift of the yarn, but especially for the faith I would do something with it! (Warning, don't look too closely, and for gods sake, don't count the holes!)

And now for the finally finished drop cloth quilts! All are 29" square, a set of five (so the Japanese amongst us know it's a full set!), and built from a 15 year old drop cloth and every other studio remnant I had lying around- out takes, leftovers, and scraps. Every element contains blood sweat and tears and I can talk for days on what each scrap did to me in it's original quilt. Don't get me started.   First, two details:

And now the full pieces.  (Photos need some work, acknowledged.)

Don't say I haven't been doing anything.

I'm going to Boston next week and will be dragging these along for my crit group, then I will start looking for something to DO with them on a more permanent basis than lying face down on a table.  Pssst, wanna buy five little quilts?

These are amazing. I'd love to see them in person. Beautiful lace too.
