Work cures everything.  Henri Matisse

Issues are coming to light today that you might not have previously noticed. Conflicts between you and someone at work could be emphasized -- perhaps because you are so strongly driven at this time in your life. Your ambition might be nearly out of control unless you keep your ego in check. Moderating your goals with flexibility makes your life easier now, and possibly more fulfilling.  Horrors.

EGO?  Whatevah are they talking about?  Hey, I am completely over being REJECTED

yesterday.  Not even on my mind.  grrrrrrrrr.  I need a whole re-think on what I'm doing, I need a focus, I need a life...

Here are two unrelated installations that knock me over with their coolness~

CLOUD is a large scale interactive installation by artist Caitlind r.c. Brown that appeared September 15th as part of Nuit Blanche Calgary in Alberta, Canada. The piece is made from 1,000 working lightbulbs on pullchains and an additional 5,000 made from donated burnt out lights donated by the public. Visitors to the installation could pull the chains causing the cloud to sort of shimmer and flicker.
Artificial Moon is a sculptural piece by Beijing-based artist Wang Yuyang constructed from hundreds of various compact fluorescent lightbulbs. At over 13 ft. wide (400cm) the piece is an imposing recreation of Earth’s moon, using strategically placed lights to mimic craters and other surface features. Its creation is also particularly poignant, as it was originally put on exhibit in Shanghai, a city that due to light pollution is often unable witness the actual moon moving through the night sky.

Back at the studio, the spiders are coming into their own again-  I see the adolescent sized guys peeking out at me here and there-  I know a good sweep will keep them at bay for another week or two, and I know I have to do that before I can comfortably work on anything.  So, rich after class today I will bring all that positive energy to the studio and sweep the hell out of the place.  Meanwhile I got sent a microscopic slide of spider skin yesterday which almost (!) makes me change my mind about them:

So, I am off to class with the ever-growing bags of supplies.  I can see the wisdom of pulling it all in a wagon but am resisting knowing I really don't need any more stuff to haul.  I rearranged the stuff into two plastic boxes and stuck those into a giant bag I can barely lift and my new rule is that I will made-do with what's in that for now.  Afterall, I am just doing samples so far, really am over-supplied as is.

Oh, did I mention I was REJECTED the other day?  They rejected my two most recent works.  How's that for pushing a re-adjustment in my work?
                                    bang-bang, they shot me down

Stop motion-  and I mean LOTS of stops!

Gotta run, class in one hour and I have to go grab some paper from the studio before I speed along down to West Palm.  I hope Henri (above) was right.

One thing I've really tried to put in my heart - because its already in my brain but sometimes the two don't communicate - is something I'm sure you know. On any given day - any given artist can find someone who absolutely loves their work and absolutely hates their work. Most days I listen to the former although the latter seems to be so much more vocal!

More fools they for rejecting you! It will be interesting to see who they did not reject . . . then you will see if it is a matter of a blind jurors eye or not.
