All Screwed Up
Sorry the dates are all messed up- they seem to want me to write about several days ago. The April Fools Entry and this one were both made Apr 1. Geesh.

April Fools Day
Harder than I anticipated keeping this going! Picked up TY from the airport yesterday so we are on the last leg of the winter. Made that Tunnel of Fudge cake after thirty years- found the recipe on a search but it wasn't nearly what I remembered, not chocolatey at all, in fact just tasted like underdone cake. Oh well, will ditch that one.
Finished the body part and collar of the kimono knitted jacket I am making up as I go along. Today I'll start a sleeve and maybe I can finish two before I go home so I can wear the bloody thing- too big and bulky to take in my overnight suitcase with all the electronic equipment I haul back and forth---though it would make good padding!
Song Air has HGTV and Animal Planet on their little personal monitors so I am happy circling finally.
Finished the baby quilt for D's new grandchild- I make a Grandma Quilt for my friends as they get their first, and the idea is for them to keep it on hand for when the baby comes over. I want it used on the beach and in the grass, in the car and in the stroller. And the other stipulation is that I want it shredded with use, not saved. It';s hard to not put myself into these quilts, but I've found if I do that they are "saved" and that's not what I want to happen. Unfortunately I gave it out before I got the digital! Maybe she will send me a snapshot with an actual baby on it if I ask.
Up another 3#, but I am not going to worry about it until I get home and back to the gym du jour- how much more weight can I gain in a week? Ummm, don't think about it. I think I will do the South Beach program when I get home- seems easy enough to follow and isn't the total no carb thing after the first few weeks. I am now 9# up from the absolute lowest, gotta get that off first and than head for the last 15# just to prove to myself that it's me still inside.
Still dealing with the Dad Issue- they are looking for assisted living that will take him, which I cannot believe exists. The other thing is that he is in such bad shape that any move he makes will be temporary at best. Whatever he wants EXCEPT that the time has passed way too far for him to be nearer me. That was an option from several years ago, but no way can I take this on as a project plus I know he would be miserable with only me as a contact to the world. Better I drive the 500 miles every few weeks and take the winter off- who needs Buffalo in the winter anyway?
OK, back to work, getting place ready for L to visit. Hope she stays out of the rip tides!

The First Day of the Thirty Second Year
I'm not much for scripture, but this was my present from TY yesterday for our anniversary. Very Perfect.
Proverbs Chapter 31 Verses 10-31
{10}Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.
{11} The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.
{12} She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.
{13} She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands.
{14} She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar.
{15} She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.
{16} She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.
{17} She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.
{18} She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night.
{19} She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle.
{20} She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
{21} She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
{22} She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. {23} Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.
{24} She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants.
{25} Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. {26} She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
{27} She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.
{28} Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her:
{29} "Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all."
{30} Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
{31} Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.
Perfect, except for (26)

Very Late Wednesday or Very Early Thursday
Going to D's house for dinner tomorrow night so I have made a Peep Platter to take with me- made little WWI helmets out of pistachio nut halves and glued them onto their little heads. Sure wish I could find those cocktail picks with the little sword handles, they would be perfect. She likes her Peeps exposed to the air for a day or so so they get a little crunchy so these are sitting out overnight getting dry. I also bought yellow ones but they didn't make it home- met with an unfortunate accident while still in the car.

Good thing I had them because they kept me from screaming when I picked up the dup slides I've been waiting for- they look like they have been lying out in the sun for a few weeks, barely can recognise them as the same pictures as the originals. Had to take them though because I need them right away to send in for a couple of entries. That will teach me to not use the professional photo place at home that knows what they're doing. Damn.

Opening Blog Day...
And coincidentally my anniversary which is being celebrated alone this year. I may get a slice of pizza for the festivities- I think there's a beer in the refrigerator too so the good times will roll: me and HGTV. Ty did try to give me a massage but between the little details that I would have to be naked and alone with a stranger in my house and the fact that I hate being touched, it wasn't the greatest gift choice. And apparently it was my ONLY gift choice. Oh well.
I am a fiber artist, but it seems I am currently 'on hiatus' because the muse hasn't shown her fuzzy head around here in awhile. I am anxious to get home where the pace is a bit faster and there is a bit more artistic stimulation. I am currently being exhibited here in Town Hall, a piece about the demolition of the local high school last year. On Sundays when the crew was gone I would climb over the caution tape and wade around knee deep in fluffy white stuff (asbestos perchance???) taking digitals of the recycleable mountains. It was quite cool how all the wiring was in one mountain, all the wood in another, all the sheet metal in another, and all the broken chunks of cement the size of Volkswagons in yet another. I took 500 pictures over three weeks, picked the best and printed them onto cotton before collaging them together into a quilt.
Of course I cannot figure out how to include an image here- that must be day #2.

But, trust me, the quilt was a good one, and I really wanted it to be hung here in town with the idea maybe someone would open their wallet for it. Ain't gonna happen because who knew the show was on the second floor and only seen by the folks who work there. If they can see it around the fake palm tree.
I did get to wear my fabulous new Basque sardine skirt- apparently the company is in Spain on the coast somewhere and every year their fabric designs are based on what is happening in their little village- this year they did sardines schooling and another red fabric of barnicles that I liked even better but they only had short skirts in that one. I just happen to have a sardine pin that 'goes'- the kids gave it to me for Mothers Day years ago, a little silver real sardine encased in resin. I love it...well, I love sardines. so it was a perfect match.
The other thing on my agenda today is to get to the knit shop and exchange a needle- Needle Exchange Program? Hey, maybe I am on to something. I had bought a size 8 circular needle just the other day and it was knitting up too tight so I changed to 10s and it's much better, but I need a very long circular needle, not the short straight one I have. So I go to the store yesterday and what do I get? Another size 8, like my brain isn't in gear. Sure hope they will take it back. Also I think I don't have enough yarn to finish up the kimono I'm working on, found it on line this morning but will wait utnil it's closer to going home so I get the package.
This living at two places has some drawbacks, don't know how my friend D does it with three. Such problems, eh?
Guess I better go do the errands so then I can come back and Do The Work in spite of the Mad Muse who won't visit. Will entice her with some juicy new paint offerings on the kitchen counter.
