The green wool sweater with birdseye pattern (no zipper yet)

Four of the Molly prints, all different

The final Molly lino reductive print
I am waiting to pick up Nancy and Sylvia to go to the opening of the Quilted Cuisine show. It's a trunk show and we are limited to 5 minutes for presentation- like that will be hard for me? Ha.
It snowed last night and I am only hoping I can get out of the driveway here. Molly loves it but frankly darling, I don't give a damn- probably some ancestral Tibetan memoryfor snow-love. I spent part of the 7:30 walk today cleaning out the poop in the car- she gets anxious when left in the car and lets it fly. Thanksfully she doesn't leave the back seat but that's mess enough.
But I got the pictures of the Molly prints and the sweater finally taken so wanted to get those up right away before that gets away with me too. Also yesterday I finished the detail quilting on the Self Portrait- see previous note- I changed the picture. Will report back later on the opening- I am taking the Sticks to show..

SELF PORTRAIT WITH STICKS

detail of SELF PORTRAIT WITH STICKS
Almost finished- just have to go back in and do some detail quilting, but wouldn't you know, I forgot I wasn't finished and put the sleeve on- gonna make the extra quilting difficult.
Good news- Laura got in touch yesterday and has sold the little Hisbiscus piece to someone who saw the 'Dreaming of the Garden' show. The good news is that I can now buy the iPod- was holding off until I could swing it by myself since I charged the dock last time I was in the car shop! My little white cord is in the glove comparment and ready to go- maybe I will be fully operational by the next trip to Buffalo, probably right after Thanksgiving.
Finished also, the lino block of Molly and the painting using the green plastic garden fencing. Or at least I *think* it's finished. Ralph weas gone for a few days last week and I worked like crazy but couldn't get my self out the door to class with all the stuff. Felt guilty but I WILL be there thie week, dragging it all behind me.
Also got the green sweater under control, all the way to the collar. It looks better than I thought and I learned a lot about the birdseye stitch- wish I would have started it highre up on the sweater, waish also that Molly hadnb't gotten ahold of the whole sweater and made me pick up stitches for ten rows because the back of the neck is all screwed up now- no birdseyes, and the ones that are there are out of sync with the others. Anyway, I didn't care enough to pull it out for row after row and decided to just go with the mistake. In fact I was thinking of doing an attached scarf thingy to disguise it but gave up and am working the collar now. I love this simple pattern- photo when I get it off the needles.
Today I am making 'Savor', a dried fruit jam from Italy that was in the NYT loast week. It called for ridiculous quantities of things so I only did a half recipe and even that filled my pasta pot. Luckily I can freeze most of it because I do have a lifetime supply. Valerie sent me the recipe, but I already had it cut out to make! And it was a good use for the hideous Georgian wine that someone gave Ralph.
