WET MOLLY AFTER RETRIEVING HUEY'S BALL

THE INFAMOUS RED WALL (do you think it needs more?)
Haven't been very active on the old blog lately, have I? Maybe because I am not doing what I want to be doing, instead am walking the dog forty times a day! But yesterday I did manage to get the inner wall painted to the courtyard, the same paint as I used in the hall last yead- I am hoping it wears OK out there, but if not it's not a big deal because the house has to be paiinted every few years and is due. Anyway, I like it and TY has the idea to paint more foliage and flowers around so we can't tell what's real and what's painted. He has more faith in my powers of floral reproduction than I do.
ANYway, as I was painting crammed in between the bushes and the wall, I heard a big splash and Molly fell into the pool. I wasn't paying attention to her, in fact didn't even look up for a bit, thankfully just in time to leap over the bushes and pull her out by the ears. Thanksgod I was wearing my 'walk on water' sneakers, the ones that got me out of the Loxahatchee River last year- "Feets, Don't Fail Me Now!"
So, we got through that and I managed to paint 4 more canvasses red for future collages. Now, if I could only get at it.

Belfry Bite Inclination
Went to the Palm Beach art show today with Lisa who is down visiting for a few days- it was super- it is the SOFA show from Chicago plus a photography show and a contemporary art show all under one roof at the brand new Convention Ctr here. The food was unbelievable- we got a soup and salad combo that I swear looked better than most wedding buffets I've seen. And served by tuxeoded waiters with white gloves! The fold-up tables were beautiful stainless steel groups of legs that splayed out to hold glass tabletops, continually wiped down by said tuxedo-guys. Also, a cart was pushed through the place with mimosas or champagne or bloody marys, as well as having stationary Lavazza espresso set-ups in several places. Verrry classy! And the art was to die for. Old things-
Rauschenbergs everywhere, Louise Nevelsons I could touch, and lots of very innovative things with glass way beyond Chihouly. And the JEWELERY! Amazing things that made me swoon, but alas, this friggin' 'fixed income' thing reared it's ugly head.
AND I finally got 'The Missing Manual' for my Mac. Maybe now I can start figuring things out a bit better. like WHY does the cursor shoot all over the page like and out of control cockroach? Stay tuned.

HURRICANE, 30" x 10"
I sure miss my whole folder of spam words! I guess I should start collecting more but I hardly ever get them anymore. OK, so what's up here you ask? Nothing. FLORIDA MAKES YOU STOOPID.
I have been busy trying to set up studio space in the guest room now that Ralph is here for the season. Seems he resents having to navigate around all my stuff strewn through the house, but I've always had it to myself and *I* resent having to keep it picked up!
SO, with that as the basic problem, I am setting up my headquarters in the guest room. The Guatemalans delivered the trundle bed this morning and now I can dismantle the twin bed and get that into the garage- hmmm, who would like to sleep in the garage? I have some ideas.
But I finished up the palm collage yesterday in spite of my problems, I think I want to nail all 10 little canvasses together into one piece and have a perfect lath strip- IF it doesn't split into smithereens from me nailing it. It sure would be easier to hang as one piece rather than ten. You would think i would learn my lesson on these multi-piece collages.
I did manage to find a very old image program left over from some defunct camera software bundle that allows me to resize images, though not easily. At least I have it though- god, I miss my Photoshop...
Why is everything so hard?
And now back to work.

No Spam Headings Anymore!

Molly at 8 months
Happy New Year, I am relocated to Florida. Molly made the road trip riding in her Thunderbird and wearing her Doggles. it makes a great image, sort of Red Baron-ish, but it's a lie. They hit ice storms in the Carolinas and had to hole up in an Indian motel, sans doggles. But the destination agrees with her, and boy, it's a lot easier to just open the door and step out for the many walks.
Now, the problem is that I cannot find acrylic gel anywhere down here- mainly because I don't want to drive an hour for it- am about to order it online and just pay the freight because if I don't start doing something soon I will go mad.
I have been happily stuffing things into the new Mac we bought right after we got here- there are some tyhings I love about it, but others I hate- the verdict is still out on the whole thing but, damn, it looks so goood on the desk...
I am getting another one at home so this is my practice piece. Already ran into problems syccing my Palm- it won't sync, probably because Iwaas trying to get it to also sync to the calendar on the Mac- it would be way simpler to have one than two That's a problem I will deal with tomorrow.
The only arty thing I have done is to knit a bit, another short sleeved cropped sweater because they go fairly fast. This one is in variagated rayon ribbon and I'll take a picture as soon as it actually looks like something. I have come to another conclusion that I really like variagated yarns in the skein but they lose all appeal to me as theya re knittied. I sure hope I can remember this little detail next time I hit a yarn store.
