*Productive In the Process

OLEK AND THE CHARGING BULL ON WALL STREET from olek on How to Crochet a 7100 pound bull.

So last night I had a fight with a Sick Man, well, maybe not still sick, just weak. I brought home the first two encaustic paintings I did from the dumpster chain photos thinking (silly me) that they will be the first two of a large installation on the living room wall. Proudly I changed them out for two old framed photographs I had tired of (also from my own construction site sneaking around). He chose to ignore the switch all evening. Finally I asked him what he thought and it brought forth a tirade of them being too small, wrong color, not interesting and on and on. yeah, I agree they are too small and that is why I am making a whole herd of them. But still he hates them so I replaced the boring old work nad took them down to take back to the studio. I still plan on doing the rest and will 'try try again' with the full complement of green chains when I finish. For now, here are the finished two:

all polished up and ready to hang.

This morning I got back from my walk with the Walking Nazi and a photograph I really like of the koi down at the Morikami had been replaced byt a third encaustic piece. This one truly DOES NOT 'go' in this house, I only brought it back to show him. Here it is:
Yikes. I mean, I like this piece but how on earth does he think it works here? Oh well. Now, I can't find the koi picture, he has hidden it to make his point, I guess.

Yesterday I mostly spent the morning with Diane, then we went to an elegant lunch at Panera since Jupiter has gone hi-brow since she left. Afterwards I really tried to finish up the Sketchbook Project so I can get it mailed out. All I did was hit problems, one after another. Serves me right for waiting till the last minute I 'spose. Here are a few pages from that- oh, it's about Hot Air Balloons, Dirigibles, and Bi-planes. (Go figure...) It's mostly made up of my sky photographs from over the years.
I need to do some stamping on the cover still.
Maybe a bit more writing about balloons.
And maybe some color here and there in the planes~
I added Bi-planes so it wouldn't just be about hot air... Needs a few more tweaks, and it will be on it's way, happily out of my life and into Brooklyn forever. If they hadn't offered me an IBSN number I wouldn't have done this, but it's something I always wanted. LOL

Today I'm getting a Horror-Warning instead of a Scope:
You are quite serious about setting new goals today and you probably think that there isn't anything that can distract you from your self-appointed path. Fortunately, good ideas roll though your mind now like waves crashing on a beach. Nevertheless, you can grow so enamored with one amazing thought after another that you are hypnotized by all that's possible. Visionary thinking may be uplifting yet unsatisfying, unless you keep reminding yourself to be *productive in the process.

  1. I just love Diane - how lucky that you got to spend some quality time with her! Somehow, I missed the fact that she had lived in Jupiter at one point.
