“Easy is right. Begin right and you will be easy.
Continue easy and you are right.
The right way to go easy is to forget the right way,
and forget that the going is easy.” (Chuang Tzu)

So yesterday I was on my way to the studio and found a recipe on the inter webs with only 5 ingredients and guaranteed great cookies.  Si I put down my pile of stuff I was transporting, and got out the bowl, preheated the oven and started in.  here is the recipe-

1 cup peanut butter
1.2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
dash of salt
1 c. chocolate chips

Yup, 5 ingredients, what could go wrong?  Well, I used almond butter instead of peanut butter and had just enough Ghirardelli chips in a bag.  It mixed up easily and I use my 2 Tbs ice cream scoop to make almost 2 dozen cookies.  When they were cool enough to eat I grabbed on and Ehhhhh!  Not very good as a cookie, pretty BAD as a chocolate s=chip cookie.  So I tried again with my secret stash of super hot peanut butter and dried cranberries instead of chips.  Again, NOT very compelling even though they were alright.  TY hated these but liked my third attempt where I used tahini in place of nut butter and roasted pistachios instead of chips.  I don't love them, and I know this because I don't grab one every time I walk by the plate.

My niece is flying across the state in the morning to spend a few days with us and I had hoped to meet her with a pile of cookies, looks like I need to hit Publix on the way home and do a Real recipe.

Next, I tuned into Netflix and watched a bunch of B mysteries while I started a new use of old yarn-  this time a bright turquoise cotton that used to be a shrug-  who in hell wears SHRUGS?  Now it will be a tank top, perhaps with little sleeves if I don't run out of yarn first.

Really interesting article from the Scientific American reposted from the Pocket blog HERE

Carrying out my threats, my parting words yesterday were about posting the whole Twins series so I'm going to do that next:  I still have them all, so they would be available for a show AND I can even make another one if the pesky Muse stops by one of these days. And the other thing is they have all been made since I moved to Florida, so basically unseen in Massachusetts.

And finally, for today's drawing lesson, #2,- go HERE:
(I did post this as a video but they won't let me so you have to go there yourself.  Sorry.  But is IS worth it, very interesting.)

The one of the African mother is my all-time favorite. Have lived it since I saw it in Chandler. But I really like the whole series.
