Cheeze 'n Crackers

What a day. Everything I touched turned to poop-ola. I started out on a high note, working on a collage I started a week or so ago. I had transferred my crows to the telephone wires I took with the iPhone at a stoplight, but didn't like the way they looked so scraped it all back. Unfortunately I also scraped too far and wacked up the sky. I had to print new images going the opposite direction and the wrong printer started up and spewed out about ten copies of the damn crows. Need any? (These are the before-editing image from an old trading card)

This is a lost cause, I am now going to start over and (ummmm...) plan ahead a bit. SO, off I went around to the other side of the table and messed with my solstice eclipse, here:
Messy, eh? You betcha. But I learned a whole lot about cutting away layers. And wasting wax at $10 a pound. And a pound is NOTHING, gone in nanoseconds.

So I decide to print off two images from long ago dumpsters on to my gampi paper, a silk tissue that pretty much disappears when stuck to a surface. Love this stuff and have been going through my supply like gangbusters, so I gluestick it to my acetate like always and the first one gets caught in the printer and shreds itself onto and around the rollers. I spent 45 minutes pulling it out and got it all. So , to prove that this DOES work, I stick another big piece in and this one completely winds itself around and rips and adheres to the rollers this time. This is the same thing I've been doing for freakin' ever and today it backfires. So I find my jewelry tools and go at the printer with needle nosed pliers pulling out one tiny shred after another. It looks like a hamster lives in there. But thankfully I got it all out. There went another hour.

I made two prints on 13" wide photo paper, a dear commodity here, and both printed beautifully except that my photos are way out of focus, something I didn't see on the tiny thumbnail on the monitor. So I ironed them down to the wax anyway and will do SOMETHING to them to emphasize the parts that are in focus. Tomorrow. These are 12" square. Unfortunately the hanger is on the tops of both images on the back of the boards. I would have preferred them to be vertical. Aaack. Always in a hurry.

But I have 20 minutes left so I push the ole 'print' button again and stick in this paper/fabric stuff I have a roll of but have never tried. I ended up with a shadow of an image because I used the wrong side. The second print was this one, gorgeous color, but DAMMIT, now I have banding in the black areas. Probably caused by my gampi paper still in there somewhere. The machine is on cleaning cycles now, have done two so far.

So, are ya ready for this? The Horror-Scope of the day, I just now read it and am berating myself for not getting at it earlier:

You have extra energy to put into your job or your chores today, but still may end up frustrated because everything takes longer than you expect. The problem isn't that you may leave something unfinished; you can always tie up loose ends later. The real difficulty stems from your desire to be done so you can move on to what's next. It's challenging for you to accept the fact that it's not time to push for closure. Patience is your most valuable asset now.
A kick in my pants yet again. Patience. What a concept. Where in hell did I put that ...this place is a mess, I am losing everything. Hey- WHAT'S NEXT? I know, dinner at the Thai place, let's go! Good thing they have wine.
