Daily Report

Just so you get the scale. Today it topped over the height of the trees behind the wall and is brushing the sky. Now it's just plain scary- the damn thing could cave in my roof if it goes over. What's to happen next? You tell me.

Yesterday I picked up Meg from the airport and took her back the circuitous route through my studio. She was a perfect studio pet- just sat quietly and read while I actually blocked out my Twins piece. I got part of the drawing done for the template, got the background fabric pinned in place, and taped off what part of the base piece will be used so I don't cut it off prematurely. This way I can square it up when it's finished and the stitching has drawn it up a bit here or there. Of course with a regular quilt pattern back-drop I will be chopping off corners with abandon. Guess I shouldn't let that bother me much.

Today is hot, Meg and I went to Artigras, a local outdoor art fair that has been great every other year. Specifically, I went to find my Greek guy- a potter who I have been buying giant white carved platters from for a couple of years. We finally found his space but he had none of his regular stock on hand, nothing I wanted! Whoa.

Wait a minute- "nothing I wanted" is choking me! How uncharacteristic. Maybe I have turned the old age corner after all. Guess I'll go throw out some shoes while I think of it.

I now take Meg back to the airport after her quick visit, then I head off to pick up another friend in Boynton. I hope she is also a good studio pet because I hate to interrupt the muse when she is on a roll. I have a few irons in the fire right now and am excited and anxious about how to get it all done. No time for foolin' around for a few weeks.

I think your agave will get much taller, then keel over dead. Really, I think an agave only blooms once and then dies. Sorry. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, I think you're right, just haven't wanted to face it. I read that some agaves don't die after blooming but this isn't onew of them. Darn, I love this thing and we've only had it for about three years now- guess I got it in it's declining years!
