But as I was finishing up the morning email at home I got a message from Laurie and she had to get out of the house, thankfully, and picked the studio as her destination du jour! Off we went to the few local-ish craft stores in search of boards. Of course it started pouring so the ride was less than fun, and naturally I had already bought out the whole supply from one store and the second doesn't carry them, but on a whole day of sloshing through puddles and getting drenched I had great company! The only thing I actually accomplished was to exchange my broken tackle box. This has been a great week for human companionship- sometimes I neglect that in my hermit-ish ways. All three women I've spent time with this week are the kind I wish I had more time with. All three listened to me whine and then we got off that and onto more interesting subjects, like art. All three are funny and fun, AND they do wonderful work, very different from my own. And I learn from all three too. What more can I ask for in a friend, let alone three of 'em?
I did manage to get 5 additional prints ready to go- that will give me a series of 9 plus a spare. I'll get those done and then decide if it needs to be 16 or not. The thing is that the dumpsters are disappearing from around here as the place gets built out. As it is the only opnes here now are new and totally uninspiring after catching all the rusty crusty predescessors. Looks like my dumpster days are closing, better back up all these images, eh?
Last night I was able to find matching boards at Jerry's Artorama so they are on their way. I started the series on a few odd extras I had lying around and then couldn't find any more. Next time I will have them all assembled first, THEN start. Like that will happen~ you can put that in the 'Famous Last Words' column.
During the height of the rainstorm last night the doorbell rang and it was my mailwoman delivering my Amazon package- my new book from Bonny Lhotka that looks AMAZING on first go through. Have a feeling this is going to keep me busy for a long time with much more information than I will ever digest. I'll let you know more about it as I plow on through.
For all of you who are asking, TY is doing well. I am feeding him manly stuff with lots of red blood building properties. Chicken livers, red meat, roast beef sandwiches... And he has discoverd my secret cookie stash (a giant gift collection of Dancing Deer cookies and brownies from our broker who doesn't 'get' that I can't eat that stuff) in the freezer and is going through that like the freezer is going to chew them first.
This morning I'm taking him out to breakfast for some manly eggs and hash while the house is being miraculously cleaned. Today's project is tackling the growing Spanish moss installation hanging off the ceiling fans. Must be a specific 'interior' variety...

Home Sweet Home,
until it gets caught in your mouth.
glad TY is feelng better -- cookies will do that. Glad you're geting some medicinal use out of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, there is nothing as good a human company. We work much too isolated for our own good; this is why I love going to my REAL studio. Can't wait to get back there on a regular basis.
Glad you had a couple of days of fun with your friends. Say hi to Beverly the North for me - I remember the fun day we had last year at the show in West Palm and then that yummy lunch.
