It Give My Yearbook

Do you remember that I am using my spam mail for the blog headings? Some of them are just too perfect- as is this one. Yesterday I got a postcard in the mail from one of those marketing people selling 'comprehensive alumnae references from Your School (fill in name of school here)'. I threw it away. Well today I get the follow-up phone call from a girl saying she was actually from OPHS, AS IF... So as I was verifying my address and confirming I was not going to buy the darn yearbook, I was multitasking (cooking up some crostini, checking the computer, and seeing who was getting organized on HGTV today- what a bunch of losers but that's another topic for another day- see below), and had an e-mail from my best friend from junior high! Another synchronicity in triplicate, you gotta love it when things come together like this.

Spent ALL DAY yesterday on the 'Blackmailng Peter to Bankrupt Paul' quilt, more of the inset circles and I still have enough for a few more. Here is a closeup of the quilting, variagated black and white thread, and each one slightly is different.

And here are the blocks all quilted and ready to assemble:

So, the question is: I am thinking I want to assemble them in a row of 6 instead of 3 across and 2 down...I don't know why. I could also make a dyptich of the two sets of 3, but I've done several like that. Meanwhile I can't go any further until I make up my mind because I am working on the bindings. Also, I am thinking that they need a third layer of something going on on top of the quilting- what I don't know yet- maybe some more fused applique, maybe some couched threads, maybe some (dare I say it) GLITTER.

I took some pictures of the tablecloth and 6 napkins I got at the OP antique mall- not much stuff there because I think eBay has cut these businesses pretty much off the map, but I got these and some Very old books, one on grammar, on on cooking from 1913. I just loove the silly little olive on each napkin- would have sapent the $12 just on these because the tablecloth doesn't much do anything for me. I still have to see if I can lighten it up with a good soak, lots of spots. The bowl of stuff on the tablecloth seems to be a cucumber and celery- maybe it's a bloody mary cloth, I dunno.

And here are the new magazines- cool, huh?

I am now on DIY as well as HGTV- my 'Simpering Quilts' episode #824 is being rerun for the thirtieth time on Monday, check your local listings, as they say. Or not.
