Tonight on Coast to Coast the guest is Sylvia Browne so naturally I have to listen. I did a little research to see what her predictions for this year were from last year and ----uh oh----Sylvia needs to reset her computer to a former date and re-predict!
Sylvia Browne : The Official Site
Well now, Sylvia wasn't able to predict the NO hurricane and flooding! We are, however, on our last 80 years (or so) of life on this planet. OK by me, I won't be around then. Seems I am addicted to Coast to Coast from 1 AM to 5 AM- it's my little 'break for insomnia'. I even invested in one of those pillow speakers so I can listen all night to talk radio. Nothing I like better than listening to long haul truck drivers report on the paranormal. George Noory is quite wonderful though, very up on his (shall we say) diverse guests.
OK, now I get to tell you about the QC meeting in the new auditorium last night: After 27 years we are out of the UU church in Arlington and now in an Arts Ctr in Watertown. It's been 'under construction' for about a decade now and built in an old military arsenal. The auditorium was great- the seats at nice high angles and everyone looked all sparkly under the little lights. But last night was the dreaded Show n' Tell and the current regime didn't handle it with efficiency and tact. They started on one side and Everyone who had ANYthing toddled out of their aisle while we all waited, they dropped their stuff and picked it up, they tripped and finally made it to the stage where they proceeded to show about 8 pieces that were 9" x 12" with complete stories about every one. I was gettin' antz in my pantz... Probably because I was in the exact opposite space from the start point and figured I would be there for two days waiting to get called. Well, the audience found it necessary to clapclap clapclap after ever friggin' piece. WHY didn't someone stop this lunacy? Finally it was my side of the rooms turn so I sort of leaped ahead of several others to get up to the stage. And just as I was starting out to my spot...Our erstwhile president tells me we have to be out of the building in 8 minutes so please only show ONE piece. I am red with anger. Because I have FIVE pieces that I had spent the last three days finishing up and binding BEE-UUU-tifully. So I show one friggin' piece and skulk off the stage and just keep walking to the parking garage. In a Huff. Or as Lazarus would call it, a 'Plaid Fit'.
But, oh well, now I have four finished pieces.
Tonight I had Mandy and Hector Fishstick and Nate come to dinner. hector seems to think any location out of HIS house is 'outside' and pees freely on my Tibetans. So, the evening was stressful to say the least. Not to mention he is now exactly twice the size of Molly and doesn't know when to quit. Well, neitheer does she but at least she is cute about it. But, you ask, "What Did You Eat?" I had a few heirloom tomatoes and a small piece of smoked mozzarella on a bed of radiccio an romaine, fresh basil and chives and some parsley with a balsamic viniagrette. I also made some olive oil crostini to go with this salad. Then for the main course I had sauteed some shallots with procultto and added peas- this whole thing was poured on top of linguini and served with wine poached chicken breasts. For dessert I used the wild Maine blueberries I got the other day and cooked them quickly with some lime juice. This was then a sauce for some vanilla (real) ice cream. Very simple, but wonderful fresh vegetables. I am stuffed.
So I am going to go catch a few winks before it's time to wake up for Insomnia Radio! I hope Sylvia Browne twists on her skewered predictions!
