Delta Dawn

Song brought me here for 'a song' so I guess I shouldn't complain but geesh, am I ever glad to be off that bus. Song was a shining light in airplanedom last year but now it is just the same as every other. I was lucky thought because no one was sitting in the exit rows so I got a whole row to myself. I can be very fleet of foot when necessary, and the only other requirement is that I speak English (check) and be willing to help others go down the slide (hmmm- every man for himself but they don't have to know that little detail). They used to have great FRESH food, simple and organic, but this trip my big surprise was a tiny tub of processed cheese spread presented in it's natural day-glo orange, a tiny tub of mild salsa (made in NY) and a bag of tortilla chips the size of nickels. For 'dessert' I got a bag of Red Hots- the stuff you see in movie theaters that no one ever buys. This was called their 'Ole Fiesta' and what a fiesta it was.

Still no food available, according to Ralph so we had a can of old clams tarted up to top some angel hair and a Very Good bottle of Sicilian wine that went down like bottled water. Must have been dehydrated, but what a great way to recover.

Since I got here after dark I haven't seen much of the hurricane damage but I know there is a huge tree uprooted at the end of the driveway- will take some pictures as soon as it's light.

I thought it would be great fun to go two houses down and hide while Ralph brought Molly out- to see if she would 'track' me. Well, bad idea. I scared the poop out of her when she saw me lurking behind a bush and wouldn't stop barking, even when she heard me calling her, she tried to run back to the house! Finally Ralph caught her and we got close enough so she could see me and then she got all excited- the reaction I was after to begin with. Guess it's time to cut her bangs.

And oh damn, it's an hour earlier than it should be.
