It's been busy getting Thanksgiving over with and sitting like a schlub and knitting for days on end. The whole problem started when I went to the teensy local shop to get 3 more #5 circular needles to do the ruffle around the neck and front of this sweater- it was killing me to get so many identical needles but as fortune would have it, they didn't have a single one and I was momentarily thinking it was the universe's way of telling me "no ruffle, you idiot!". A clerk (do we still call them that or is that now incorrect too?) approached and I asked about their 'back room' for more needles but apparently the former owner had been in yesterday and taken all the needle inventory. huh? But it so happened they had one set of the Denise needles left and as she started to demonstrate how they click together thee was a massive thunder clap and lightening flash- I KID YOU NOT. Needless to say, since Denise, whoever she may be, appeared in my life I have been very happy. The plastic needles are a bit harder to work with then some of my others but I quickly got up to speed and have three cords attached now that I am at the outermost reaches of the ruffle.
Also, since I was afraid that I was running out of yarn since I changed gauge and upped the size from the original plan, so I went online and ordered 2 more skeins of baby cashmerino in chartreuse and deep purple thinking it needed a stripe or two at the edge. So I have been knitting like a woman obsessed and it's getting heavier and heavier. I am so anxious to bind off and take the cords out one by one. What can I say, I get my thrills where I can these days.
