Floored Idians

I signed up to be a volunteer at a local big craft show in a couple
of weeks- something to do that will make me more involved with things other than
myself and give me free admission. Basically I wear sneakers, sunscreen, and
the 'official' tee-shirt , hoping I get an XL, and act as a runner and liason between the artists and
the 'patrons' (that's what they call the people who come to the show,
optimistic, isn't it?). I bring people water and answer questions and smile
(for me, that's the hardest part). Anyway the organizational meeting was last
night in the library here and most of who showed up were teenagers doing a
community service sentence.

So while I was there I tried to get a library card finally- they WOULDN'T GIVE
ME ONE. I couldn't prove that I live here. But as I was huffing and puffing
about this with the guy (?) behind the desk he told me that I could use the
computers even without a card. He didn't 'get' that it was books I wanted. Now
I must change some bill to be sent here in my name so I can show them I do live
here.

Floridians, bah humbug.

Meanwhile, back at the ole MA homestead, here is the announcement for the show in March:

COMING in March: "Stitched/Unstitched: Nancy Crasco, Judy Becker, Sandra
Donabed, Sylvia Einstein, Carol Grotrian" (3/3 - 3/31)
Gibbs Gallery
40 Foster Street
Arlington, MA
781-648-6220
http://www.acarts.org
Monday-Friday 9AM - 5PM
Opening Date: March 5, 2006 2-4pm
Gallery talk: Sunday, March 19th at 2:00PM.

I'll give you a clue- I am the featured "Unstitched" part. I am headed back to MA to help them hang it, another flight from hell, but an occasion to change the colors and fonts on the blog too.
