Still Tripping, and Skipping

Well wouldn'tcha know it, the only thing I bought at Artigras was an antique doorknob set in an antique backplate on an antique board! I spent a lot of time talking to the hoarse woman in the booth with all this newly rebuilt antique stuff, so perhaps the horror-scope is right. I bought the doorknob for Mandy and Jamie as a key holder for near their door, seems Jamie is always losing keys or taking the wrong ones so maybe this will help them out.

I showed up with only one shirt on today for my volunteer duty and right next to me checking in was someone with 'Sandy' on their nametag. They didn't have anything for us Sandies to do so they sent us off to look at the show- we found out we are both from Buffalo, she lives in Stuart and CT, and my freshman year roommate had her exact name, also the name of a famous romance writer. A fun encounter with someone I liked immediately, but then I lost her. Not before she had me putting for a blue plastic piggy bank. The Mercedes dealership had run out so I didn't get any chances at the 'luxury vehicle.'

Saw some of my friends from home at the show, saw some interesting art, but I doubt I will be doing the volunteer thing again in this way. First of all they don't need me so after walking around aimlessly looking for someone to help for three hours, I ducked out early. I had HOPED to be doing something indispensible- ummm, like don't we all?- and making this a winter project but I don't think so. I am taking my sunburn and going home.

I am still making wee fluffy white balls out of Molly's hairbrush, have finished painting all the big shells gold except for one that turned out kinda 'plum' instead of gold (will redo that one next), and knitting away on the shawl/shrug knitting project. I need to get to 58" in all, a wingspan for a human, and I think I am almost at 38". The cables are fun to do, but next time I will have to pay closer attention to counting rows- let's just say I am not too consistant.
