Finally got this to hold still long enough to take the picture! This is the third of the sample quarter-circle quilts for the workshop, this one illustrating the use of sashing between the blocks. Ironing this is hell- makes me so dizzy with all the dots! So, naturally, I am calling it 'Dotty', but it probably won't ever see the light of day after tomorrow when we have the last class. I did manage to cut the selvedge off and isolate "Sandy" from the designer's name so used that as my signature. This will make a good baby quilt someday, maybe. We'll see.
And while I was at it I got my shrug photographed too. I think it's about half done. Basically it is two very big loose sleeves attached across the back. It's meant for drafty window sitting in old houses and intended for Mandy since she sure has an old house and lots of windows! I don't think she likes purple but this is such a beautiful color that I hope she changes her mind- there sure isn't much use for this thing in Florida.
Last night I went out to dinner with the Walking Nazi, her DH, another couple, and a divorced guy who is having trouble accepting it. So all week long I was calling it 'my date' and couldn't wait to really do it up big with 'date' talk, like rreferring to him as 'hon' and talking about our NEXT date. The object was to make him blush BUT when he walked in I whispered to him, "Do you want to tell Ralph or should I?" and the gloves were off. He turned into every date cliche imaginable, even telling me what to order for dessert. It got to be very funny, to the point that the WN was going to drive by my house to see if his car was here this morning! Whatever- I learned my lesson and am officially off the date circuit again---like I was ever on it. He sure was the embodiment of the tee-shirt I once had: "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle".

Heard there were 2 feet of snow in Boston, but Nate called earlier and had made it back this morning and was in his office. I cannot tell you how much I do not miss snow- I hate it and hope I never see another flake.
