Holding Pattern

We got to AAA the other afternoon and emerged three hours later with a plan and some maps to the doggie hotels up the east coast. I won't be able to blog on the trip because I don't have a laptop- WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS OVERSIGHT? But I will have my little journal booklet along to write all about sitting in a car for three, maybe four, days with stops in Charleston, Asheville, and at Gettysburg. I am 'allowed' a morning in Charleston- we were there a few years ago and it was August- I could not even walk across the street it was so hot but what a charming city- I always wanted to return but admittedly for more than a morning. Then we will blast to Asheville where I am allowed an evening walk around town but with the doggie in tow will not be able to go IN anywhere. I really hate to leave her in a motel room as I can hear her crying all the way down the hall, even with her Kong full of peanut butter. Then there is a hard day of 11 hours driving to Gettysburg... now I betcha that somehow we will be able to spend mega hours wandering around there. But it is still going to be a long ride to Boston on the last day so I hope I can move this tour along as fast as possible with TY having to touch and think about every blade of grass.

WhatEVER- my camera is charged, my iPod is ready- show me to the road. Oops. Better wait a minute. There- now I am signed off the QA list so I won't have any excuse to go patrolling back and forth along the chain link fences looking for a fight. I have much to do when I get back to reality so not having that distraction will be a Good Thing. I may even get some new work finished up for my show.

Worst of all I woke up so early this morning and feel all sick and queasy so the whole trip is seeming like more effort than I can muster. Maybe I will be able to just throw up all the way home. Nah, he won't stop for that. UPDATE: it was the old previously frozen and abandoned lamb I forced on dinner- I was sick all day but have recovered. Note to self: pay attention to kitchen sanitation.

I'm going to try to get back to sleep for a few hours before the Walking Nazi arrives ready for her daily mileage.
