About The Quilt Progress: Go back a few posts and see the quilt (?) I started on- I finished the quilting on the main part last night and added a few skeleton leaves on the way. IT's getting somewhat cluttered, but what the hell- seems like everybody's stuff is cluttered any more. I added both turtles because one looked too lonely, then I also added the bugs and beetles- those are just fused on, so today I have to give them a coat of gel. I let all the thread hang from both ends of every stitching line too- so there sure are layers on top of layers on this. I am taking it to crit tonight for a talk through, and will bring along my test borders since I have 4 that work so they can give me input. I figure that border input I will take, the rest is up to me. Sure hope this falles into 'quilt' category. I badly need some new work for the one-woman show in Acton and also to enter a few things coming up.
About the TY Progress:
I took him to the surgical center at 5:45 this morning and they tied up his Achilles using someone else's tendons- he finds this very icky, but I read a lot about how organ transplant people get new vibes that seem to more belong to the donor person! Interesting to see how much an Achilles tendon will change him, eh? So he is drugged up with his foot up high watching videos and snoozing. So far so good. We were home by 11 and have a long few weeks ahead. Sure wish I had someone to do that early morning dog walk! And I am gonna get damn sick of cooking since we go out so much. But I can suck it up for a bit. Who am I kidding?About the Florida House Progress: Weird thing just happened- our builder just called because I had left a message yessterday that Iw as confused about the stairway. Anyway, he apologized and said he wasn't there this week, he is in Buffalo! So I said Oh, too bad, I will be there next week. He then said he is in East Aurora NY where they have a house for the summers. Well, DUH, I will be in East Aurora because that's where I am staying for the memorial service, the town next to my hometown! Then he says that the architect it there too. But I can't take time to see them when I am back because I will be too busy and we will have to continue the plans with Fax and e-mail. The 'plan' is to add a second floor over the garage to give us the extra room we need, aka a studio for me, and also to update and fix the house as it is rather than build the new one. (I could cry- I loved that new one but the maintainence expenses on that were out of sight- would mean we could never go out to dinner again to live there so fergit that!) A studio could also be easily converted to another bedroom too- just in case we ever need more beds.
Well, time to grab a new ice bag- more later.
