Yesterday was my daughter's birthday- they seem to be coming around an an ever faster rate these days! I went up to the north shore and took her and her husband out 'clamtiquing'- his new word for what we did. We wanted our fried clam fix for the season and it was the perfect opportunity to go to Essex, which is known as much for it's lines of tiny antique shops as for the clam shacks lining the road through the salt marshes. We arrived at a quarter to 5, apparently in time to see the Taking-In-The-Signs town wide ceremony and hear the merchants combined sigh of relief. So, the 'tiquing' part was a bust- no problem, it gave us more time for the 'clam' part. We went to a place I remembered from a long time back and sat outside on the deck overlooking the salt marsh and it's minimal boat traffic and the clams started arriving- all three of us had platters full and they were delicious. I ate the whole thing... Also I had a wonderful salad with roquefort, finely cut procuitto and sliced grilled pears over baby greens which also arrived on a platter- I guess it isn't necessary to eat today as we Leos were indeed like a pack of lions. Today we will lie around and wait for the next kill.
Here is the last of the smaller quilts I rephotographed and am putting up at 50% off. Today I must get these piles of quilts re-rolled and labled and stuffed back into their nooks and crannies, a job I am dreading but nothing else on the plate today except a few phone calls. The newly shoveled out studio looks pretty good, a few more tasks to complete and I will be neatness personified. And probably paralized creatively. From all the re-organizing I have missed another deadline and could kick myself. I really must get back on track, but especially I have to start planning and setting aside for the Acton show. And get something on a postcard!
