Monster Crochet

Stayed up way too late last night with my fingers and toes tangled in the hideous orange bumpy sweater, and then, this morning, I was sent this link to what I SHOULD be doing instead. Make sure and check out all the little links on each page. (Start with a new mug of coffee so you don't have to get up!)

So, I did finish all the various parts of the sweater, but it looks like it was done by the Brownie troop. Hope I can block it up to be more regular, and maybe loose the bumps. Meanwhile, this living without wool is a pain- I just don't need any more wool sweaters since I am gone all wooly season. Of course the ban doesn't extend to cashmere or alpaca, but there is a financial ban on those. I think I will start more free-form knitting- that way I can say I meant it to be 'that way'.

I got a cool ad yesterday for Flickr so I joined and spent hours uploading photos because they have a deal for $19.95 with a company called Moo that prints little skinny cards from your photos on Flickr. And I do need new cards so there went another several hours. I will leave these at the show rather than postcards- in fact when I get these I will probably order some more just to leave about like so much litter. For the backs I just had my name and web addresses put on rather than a bunch of other information, KISS. Hey, for once I remembered!

Tonight is the shower for my friend's daughter. I had the package wrapped by the store, and the Very Expensive Christmas ornament I ordered made it here yesterday. I love to give new brides an ornament for their first tree so I got one of those Christopher Radko pieces off eBay, where it was as expensive as new (but I cannot find 'new' around here yet). My original plan was three of them, three wise men currently residing at Gumps, but that tab came to $165 with shipping and I decided that one unsure move would send them reeling to the ground- plus she would have no idea how careful she should be! One ornament they can throw at each other! My dilemna now is how I will give it to her- I was going to tie it on the bow but again, if a stack of packages happens, this little green church is toast.
