Hey, I only copy these headings, I don't make them up. I have no clue what a Wayzgoose might be, maybe something like a chimera. So, today I got my blog stats and there was a definite uptick this week. Since absolutely nothing has happened except my fabulous 'Bloggers Who Think' award, that must be the reason. I have a feeling my next award will be "Bloggers Who Can't Spell"- stay tuned.
The other day was a great friend's birthday and we always do something silly to celebrate, but I wasn't there and time escaped me so I ended up just sending one of my festive e-mails, such sentiment! And she sent me this e.e. cummiings poem:
Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
But...Sisters are there, no
matter how much time and
how many miles are between you.
A girl friend is never farther
away than needing her can reach.
I sat here with tears coming down my face~ my friends mean so much to me, and I hate being away from even the minimal contact my lonely studio existance allows. And I never had a sister, not even a crazy-monkey sister like my BF growing up- the one who carved her boyfriend's initials in her leg with a razor blade. And this was before cutting became household behavior! Anyway, my friend Lisa is my sister now, and I wish her every good thing in the next year. Thanks for your friendship all these many years.
And while we are on the Birthday Theme (bet you didn't realize there was a theme, did you?), yesterday was the gala third birthday of my furry friend Molly. Party Hearty- she got some Provolone in her kibble. Here she is at her favorite perch on the back of the couch. She got a shout-out from a few of her Dogster friends too, though she doesn't read very well and her typing skills are clumsy.
And finally I want to tell you about my favortie shop on the planet, and it just happens to be about 2 miles from here. Gallery 5. Recently I got a postcard that the owner, Paula Cobin, is moving and changing the business over to just several days a week and increasing her internet business. Frankly I am not surprised because she works constantly and is due a break, but I am sad to not be able to drop in anytime. She handles just about every wearable artist I have ever heard of, wonderful pieces all. Over the years I have bought a feww things for special occasions and have loved and worn them with great joy. Well- seems like Paula doesn't want to move much merch so she has cut everything in the store by 40%, and I have been there three times! I have bought a few little things by artists I normally don't buy because of the high prices (shame on me), and I have been prancing around in them at home all by myself enjoying my breakout into color. Yes, folks, ME in color, imagine... Bright turquoise shibori shirt, orange and purple shibori silk top, and an amazing red hand dyed stripey jacket. I, of course, will wear one every day as soon as I need sleeves again! I am also having the itch to grab the purple silk pants that go with the orange and purple top so I may have to go back- just couldn't face the knowledge of the credit card bill in my future.
So see? I AM a "Blogger Who Thinks" afterall. Guilt makes me think once in awhile. And now I am headed back to packing up the house into hundreds of boxes, I am too old for this.
