BizNuz! I ran out of those round letter things in three words. Bummer. Yesterday, between other crappy tasks, I finally got the flannel up on the homasote board in the studio. This, to you, may not be a biggie, but for me to see the time soon that I will be able to work os big-time
Of course I have a very exciting shot of my new white flannel on my white homasote which is bolted to the white wall.
And I have to tell you that I haven't painted a wall white in 40 years, but all of a sudden I want no color in my surroundings! Of course maybe it's because I have aging eyes and the distraction of extraneous color interferes now like it never used to. Whatevah, as they say back home. Of course Blogger isn't taking pictures right now, guess I can't expect more than that for free though. I'll try again later and insert them where they belong.Or not.
So, now that I have the machine actually set up AND a wall to stick things to AND a computer desk (though still no decent printer), AND shelves with cubbies full of all my favorite stuff- what, you ask, am I doing? I am making balls. I was at ABC Carpet in Delray (a satellite of the NY megastore) and saw perfect balls for throw pillows mad of linen. These were pretty loosely packed and looked perfect for lounging about so I decided to make a few since their's, on sale, were $150 . Each. First I had to figure out the geometry -hahahahahah. That failed so I went on a google search for ball patterns, and discounting some---um---inappropriate---hits, I found a few that would seemingly work.
I drafted out a slice, but it didn't match the soft curves of the drawing I was copying to make a 6" ball for a kid. So I messed with it. Finally I was able to cut it out of the curtain that was formerly in the den, sew her up and stuff her with two full packages of fiberfill. Here is the result:
It's too hard for sticking under your neck to watch television, and too big too, so I decided to make another one with a wider version of the pattern. And I stuffed it with the contents of a pillow I am getting rid of, but ran out before I should have so it's a bit floppy, but at least more comfortable to stick under your head. Or throw. This one I made from the outtake Buick prints I did for a Lark Book on stamping and printing a few years back, can't remember the name- maybe it's 'Stamping and Printing', I don't remember. I also am showing one the pillow prints that was in the book

The print was direct from a huge Sea Oats bush across from my driveway, and the colors are pretty much in the plant.
Here is the shelving, and also the oh-so-neat sewing table in-progress.

And here is my helper hiding her bone under the shelves- she doesn't think I can see her. OK, so she's not the brightest bulb but she is long on cute. Fight me on that!

I'm loving the progress reports on your studio! And I tried to leave a comment on the mysterious disappearing OKgo treadmill video post - they are one of my favorite bands. You must head to their website and check out their instructional video on how to play ping pong. Last one on this page:

My little dog is also cute as a button and not super bright. Love her anyway!
