All's Right with the World

I know, not something you hear from me very often BUT

1. Nate is here with his GF Amy.

2. I got accepted into the collage show I was hoping for, Paste-Up- with the piece I had cannabalized the first circle quilt to make. This is where all the fishies went. Good news, and something that is completely done and ready to hang.

3. I spent three hours today PRINTING GOOD COPIES on some ancient damask I had lying around (thanks Jane Steinberg!). Something just finally clicked and I no longer needed to do two head cleanings between each print. i now have almost enough circles to RE-MAKE the quilt, as well as two good contenders for a small invitational show coming up.

4. And we had a great dinner out with friends while sending Nate and Amy off to a movie and dinner elsewhere. I am trying my best to make this a real vacation for them, not a family obligation trip, so if we see them in small doses, and hour here an hour there, maybe they won't hate it here. Hell, we even cranked up the pool temperature this afternoon so they could swim after having spent the day at the beach with the Men-o'-War. (Mans of War?)

For now I am taking my garlic breath self to bed to read until I hear them come home. Then the dog will bark like crazy and I will wake up to hear their very tame adventures. Maybe tomorrow will be more stimulating- whatever. I HAVE to get them out and busy so I can work on the prints and sew them down- it means I have to remove and resew all those pesky beads. I will be cranky.
