Just What I Need

Just what WE need, I should say. When I went back to Boston, we put Molly into a doggie day care rather than a caged kennel for boarding- she was happier to wander around and do her doggie socialization thing and we could also watch her on their doggie-cam from any computer. Perfect.

Not quite, when we picked her up she was completely matted into dreadlocks- pointy things sticking up all over her body even thought they hose her down before pick-up. I spent the week working on her and getting out the mats, poor thing. But in the process I found little scabs and knew we were invested. I couldn't get an appointment until today for a flea-dip so she is there now. It will be lovely to not have her shaking the bed all night with her scratching. And speaking of beds. I gotta go change my sheets so we all aren't up all night scratching... Drat.

Yesterday was simply spectacular so what did I do to take advantage?  Holed up in the studio and fought with the printer until I wrestled it into submission.  I was able to print about half of the needed circles for the Tide Pool quilt, will try to finish up today.  For some reason my beloved satin isn't not working at all on this printer-  it makes beautiful clear prints on the formerly-good printer at home so I am disappointed, but am using up the thousands of yards of linen I bought at a studio sale this past fall.  Basically I have printed enough of the circles to make about seven versions of the quilt, so will have to figure out how to use all the bad prints too.

Last night we went out to dinner, a fancy place with an amazing couple from Holland.  I showed up with indelible inks all over my hands from handling the wet printing, am sure I made a fabulous impression with my hygiene.  It seems to be wearing off today a little but I have done a lot of dishes and blocked a sweater so I am deep in soapy water.  Shouldn't last beyond maybe Wednesday...  ick.

I managed to get two calls-for-entry off last night, so today I have to get back to the studio and live up to the image.  Why is this all so difficult?
