Kids Everywhere.
How's that for cute overload? The uber adorable bundles on the left were born to a friend's daughter on Flag Day, full term and very big. (See previous posts about the fish and turtle hats. I doubt these little people will be able to ever wear them because I made them small thinking that twins are usually kinda small starting out. Ha. What do *I* know!)
Did I ever tell you that I suddenly found myself last year friends with THREE different people who keep goats? It's all on account of the internet, otherwise how in hell would a Boston suburbanite ever know what a goat looked like when not in a Jamaican stew or wrapped in Chevre disguise. Unfortunately one of these friends had a run-in with a coyote population and is currently goatless, a situation that bothers me because I can't brag any longer about having three friends etc etc. Thankfully Deanna (above) is doing her bit to keep me in my comfort zone. These guys are sure cute, but something about their yellow slitty eyes I find disturbing. Think I'll stick to dogs. And my condo association heartily endorses this plan.
Back on the home front I have been busy. I've been gathering stuff for my upcoming class, and knitting away every night in front of CSI re-runs. I simply cannot stomach the Housewives of Anywhere and all their yowling and lack of civility to each other. I also can't stand all their 'charity' events, their obsession with 4" heels and cocktail dresses in the daytime, their milque-toasty spouses, their surgerie3s and the fact that every freakin' show has one of the cast getting a bogus record deal! Two out of three of the record deals (heh heh) have 'turned' the performers (heh heh) gay. As we say in the skeptic biz, WTF? Will they go to any length to stir the pot? Why am I asking this question, I thought I was talking about knitting...
Still embroidering big wide intersecting circles on the purple linen and silk...
Designing and knitting as I go on an ombre alpaca sock yarn scarf. I am now adding i-cord to the edges. The woven piece in the center draws it up into a ruffle and I'll add buttons to hold it. The jury is out on this time waster, stay tuned.
Here is the back of the Noro coat before I weave in the horizontal pieces- oh yeah, first I have to actually knit them, don't I? This is an all-summer project and I needed a break so started some other things. Nice foot there in the bottom right, don'tcha think?
(Remember yesterday when I said that the legs were the last to go? Well the foot is the last to go. Mine are still blog worthy, do not argue with me on this point!)
And I am off to pick up my Mike Miller wall pieces from the Western Ave Loading Dock Gallery, then on to the Paste-Up opening, then race home to go out to dinner. And there goes the day.
