Stay tuned to the end, and thanks to Tonny for sending this one! Love it.
Spent some time in the studio yesterday doing GUESS WHAT????
yup, my internet is out there. I was wrestling with settings and airports and computers trying to get it back. Today I have one more trick up my sleeve which involves dragging the whole 30' cable across the room to see if it is indeed the airport. It worked one day, it was out the next.
I spent the time instead painting another canvas up- well, OK, so it's not a canvas, but I painted it and it's now ready for cutting I hope. I heed to check it when it's dry for color, maybe add a glaze or seven, but I'm on the trail again. So I brought home the images on a disk and played here last night:

TY is on the road with Miss Molly. His ankle is slowing him down somewhat and that's fine because it makes me nuts when he drives 1500 miles with only a pee stop now and then. At least this time he is stopping at motels. I expect him Monday if all goes well, so today is some food shopping, some Comcast wrestling, and Yup, I guess I have to pick up my messes here. I tend to leave 'things' at every place I sit down.
I have a new book by one chair (the amazing 'The Map As Art, Contemporary Artists Explore Cartography'), the knitting I started with the saffron linen by another (a heavily cabled scarf that reverses), and the Kindle by the bed.
I finished the car blanket for Elias yesterday and have it ready to mail tomorrow along with a tomato for his sistah.
I mailed off the 5 quilts to Schweinfurth yesterday and again swear that I will never again use the UPS office here- everything is an arguement with the guy there. he told me he cannot make a box, he told me I cannot insure the package, and also there was no guarantee that it would arrive by the 1st which is freakin' TEN DAYS away! AND, get this...The only way he would give me a return lable is if I have the box returned to the UPS office, not to me! I have to find a FedEx place and get an account because this sucks. Now I have to deal with Schweinfurth and explain why I have no return info for them and hope that they can handle it. Grrrrrrr. I hate being one of 'those' exhibitors asking for special accomodations.
TY just called from the road, he was passing LuRay Caverns and thought of me. (See previous harrowing post about one of my major anxiety attacks.)

Map as Art is Awesome! Love that book and it is what pushed me in the direction I am heading now . . .
Sign up for a fed ex account online, have them ship you some shipping label paper or stickon plastic label holders. Then you can box things up, generate your shipping label, arrange for pick up at your home or studio and wave a fond farewell to the UPS guy. Damn his sorry hide. I LOVE having a fed ex account. I even use their long skinny plastic ski bags as an inner liner for my boxes of quilts. All good
