Very interesting TED talk that came just as I was questioning my involvement in Facebook:
I spent a few hours in the studio yesterday and got some head work done- the stuff that happens as I wander around making small messes and pseudo-organizing. The other day I did some of this preliminary head-work by gluing huge rhinestones to the lazy susan I keep on my work table- like that needed to be done! I don't think so. So, here is what I did- I stapled a hunk of linen to some old stretcher frames and painted a background:
The linen was actually an old curtain from my former living room and I decided to go with a sky influenced paint backgtound rather than the yellow I had originally dealt with in the photo I had printed out of an old bridge (from a vast collection of my OCD photos of bridges!) and taped it all together and enhansed the lines:
So, the deal of the day is merging these together. Stay tuned.
I am really having a great time working again in the studio. I do what has to be done elsewhere in the mornings, then head over for the afternoon to work. The very good thing is that there are enough friends that now live full time in Florida that I have people to go to dinner with and power walk early in the morning before the sun comes out- this was daybreak yesterday.
(Hmmm, guess my sky paint could have been lighter and grayer, eh?)
So I get my people-fix, my food-fix, and my studio-fix. Life is pretty good.
