A day in the studio, then yesterday a day on the road looking for new haunts on the north trail: this involved a stop at a well touted handbag emporium that I was sorely disappointed in, then discovery of the northern-most outpost of Great Balls of Yarn for a cable needle (thus retiring the totally inefficient craft needle I have been using) where I found out they have a knit along on Wednesdays. I got to talking to one of the Gals and she emailed me with a bunch of patterns that will be perfect to use up some of my cherished koigu. Several more stops surrounded a Reuben at lunch, and I didn't make it home until dinner time! Today I have been warned to get to the studio by my horoscope so to double insure I do I am weaing my Sketchbook Project tee shirt. And off I go. "It's a like a concert tour but with sketchbooks..."
First, a little fixing up- managed to get all the folded quilts onto this rack in the bathroom where the 'light don't shine' so they are pretty protected. Not the best solution but I don't care about many of these any more. The ones I care more about are rolled into logs and covered with nice muslin sleeves but they are hard to keep upright
Any good moving project deserves a bit of diversion and here is mine- I rhinestoned my lazy susan. The hanging rhinestones in my front window keep falling down and landing in the dead bugs accumulated at the slit under my door- too icky to untangle and rehang so I am using my shiny rocks here instead. I really liked them in the door but kept getting the dog's tail caught in them as we would come and go.
I have other plans coming for the door so stay tuned.
Here is the bridge to date. The biggest verticals on the right are all sewn- the rest is the photograph I am cutting up as I go as my template.
It will eventually be attached to this background but I am working out a plan to lighten it up a bit more- the gold lace sun wasn't working hard enough, and I need some clouds.
One of my friends gave me this decorator sample and it works so well with this thing that I need to use it, but haven't figured out how yet. I only have about an 18" square but it has to appear somehow.
And before I forget, congratulations to all of you who got accepted into the latest Quilt National. Since I didn't have anything to enter this year, I am saying this with all the best wishes, no animosity! Hey, this is new for me, I'm usually full of it. But again, Happy Days! It was a very long time ago I got the good letter and I will never forget the thrill. In fact it was so cool that I haven't had enough nerve to enter much since!
Yup, an iPhone umbilical cord charger. How on earth could I forget this thing sitting on my desk?

Would you share the names of patterns for koigu? I have quite a stash. Would love some fresh ideas. Thanks!!
Hi Marcia- you didn't leave an email so I'll answer you here! These are small projects by a guy who seems to love koigu as much as I do for it's ability to mix diffeent skeins together. Long URL, sorry- make sure and get the whole thing. http://www.nobleknits.com/categories/Patterns/Shop-Patterns-by-Brand/West-Knits-Patterns/?utm_source=NobleKnits+Yarn+Shop&utm_campaign=8f65da2fa1westknits_9_29_2010&utm_medium=email
I found the other shawl on Ravelry- the Koigu Alligator Shawl- it's in the Koigu book and there are many pictures of it on the site. It's on my list! Thanks for getting in touch-
