Daze to Daze

Early morning I am whiling away my precious time doing this color challenge, thanks to my pal Robert Genn. He was distraught that women score higher than he can, so I figured I am a women therefore I can score higher too.
Plus, color is my 'thing', so I had at it. I got a 17 and was myself distraught comparing it to his score of 40- then I read that the lower scores are where you want to be. OK, so I got that 17 and I'm beating myself up and took the damn test again only to get another 17. Oh well, it got me through two cups of coffee and the 40 minutes it takes for the stupid Irish oatmeal to cook.

I finished the sixth section of the quilt yesterday and I'm liking it less and less but I must soldier on. There are a couple of places where the sections join that have similar squares of fabric butted up next to each other and I don't like it. The problem is, do I take apart these pieces and stick in a new square? My heart isn't in it. Instead I took my permanent markers to the squares and tried to make them 'slightly' different. I don't know where I'd be without permanent markers and glue... Anyway, I hope to get two more sections together today and make the bloody thing HALF done. At some point I have to find some border fabrics and then find someone to quilt it when it's together 'in a timely fashion', as they say.

Yesterday I had a lunch date with my oldest BFF and I got it confused, thought it was for today so I was pounding my feet on the treadmill when I was supposed to be at this wonderful little restaurant back in the home territory. What a disappointment to come home and find my phone with messages from her wondering where I am. I checked my calendar because I KNOW I DON'T MAKE MISTAKES, and sure enough there it was noted right where it was supposed to be. I feel old and stupid today. Again.

In Other News, we made our reservations to Iowa for August so we can meet my fiance-in-law's family for the first time. Unfortunately we had some problems because it seems we hit smack up against the Iowa Caucus as well as the Iowa State Fair, both bring in thousands of people.
The Butter Cow I am dying to see (this one spawned a calf too, back in 2007!) Life sized.
But finally we got the flights,
the car,
and the hotel booked.
(as if...)
Glad we didn't wait any longer. I was trying to get TY to book a Hummer to show up in their driveway, preferably one of 'significant metallic color', but he would have none of it. Sometimes he has no sense of humor (or more probably the cash it takes to rent one of those monstrosities!).

You were in good company - I took the test too and all my misses were in the blue-green range which is where most of my stash is. What does that mean?
