Does This Font Make Me Look Fat?

Obviously a few changes have been made. I hid all my colorwheels on a separate page and tried a little housecleaning. If you hate it let me know. Blogger has added a few perks so I'm trying them out. What the hell, it's all temporary except the stuff I say I shouldn't- somehow THAT becomes permanent and is the first post that Google finds. Still have to straighten out my 'pages' and get rid of stuff, but this should hold me for now. Like cleaning out a closet and suddenly having all those extra hangers, which means, of course, that a trip to Bloomingdales is in order.

Basically I was having a fight with myself over this header, a photograph of dripping tar:
Or using this mess o' stuff I put together in a shadow box of things left from my mom's sewing room:
Or my favorite image that I kind of identify with- she is me, waiting for my Muse!

But the little crocheted turtle won- he is actually a soap cover from my old foraging-through-junk days, and has kind of a dazed expression. Works for me.

And with that job done, it's time to get back to work. Today Robert Genn let me know that my excuses won't work- here are a few people have sent him as reasons not to work:

the excuses people give for not painting. With a little digging, I was able to find a few choice ones:

"I ran out of yellow ochre." "I saw ants in the studio." "I was too hot." "I was too cold." "Somebody broke into our house and stole the TV." "Our Jack Russell, 'Jack Russell' had to go to the vet." "This day next week my sister-in-law is coming." "I can't think of anything to paint." "My brother is moving out." "I'm overtired from sleeping on the floor." "My art teacher died." "I had to help Dad with his walk-in bath." "I couldn't find my sketches from last year." "My brushes are in too poor shape." "My Pontiac worries me; it needs replacing."
Guess you don't want to hear about my Pontiac, eh? LOL

Love the bright background. Yet, the hand-like font is a bit hard to read. --
why not exchange headers from time to time? Each is brilliant.

I think I had a turtle like that, growing up -- to hold soap and scrub in the tub?
