More Patterning that Grabs Me

In no particular order, and certainly not attributed correctly- I just have been saving images that attract me for some unknown purpose...This vase isn't even colors I like but I love the way the repeat design appears and disappears around the shape. Brilliant.
I'd love to wake up to this amazing array of bold pattern- TY would freak out.
This, and I do remember, was a printed fabric panel from the V&A dating from the 70's

Repeated red color in the bodice and skirt, love the subtle changes in hue and value.

More African influences, love the patterned fabric imitating body paint. The striped top looks like it might be knit. I hope Nick Cave has seen this- it came from a 1959 photo, but I know not where- some place with good corn it appears.

Note the pineapple being held--- Pineapple Pants to match your fruit! Great pattern and a nice change from all the leopard around now. Plus nobody would ever try to pinch your ass in these. (Talk about ancient memory!)

Probably an art student in the 60's. Long night in the studio, maybe a little substance abuse and voila! An autumn camouflage pattern and lots of clean brushes.

90 degree angles playing with 45 degree angles, helter-skelter transparent and opaque color. Nice!

Dots and more dots in varying sizes and configurations. Notice how the spaces draw your eye, not the foreground dotting so much.

Patterns on blocks, related by the stripes and greed down colors.

And an amazing fabulous stunning floor that would have to have caution tape on the door to keep walkers off! Love this high chroma color and the pointy dangerous triangles.

Whew, that was fun, plus it got a file off my monitor! And today's Horrific:

You may appear bright and cheery to others (right. cheery as usual!), yet there could be a challenging story that's hiding behind your friendly smile (umm, you got the wrong gal!). You think that you're doing the right thing by sharing positive (what means this word 'positive'?) vibes, rather than spreading discouragement or anger (who? me?). However, you pay a price (do they take Paypal?) for withholding what's important to you, and your suppressed negativity (suppressed? that'll be the day!) might just find a way to circle around and kick you from behind (ahh, the Pineapple pants will come in handy!). Seek healthy ways to express your truth*, so you can shine even brighter than before (note to self, get oil-free makeup).

I'm branching out on projects and am spreading myself thin. I'm knitting a scarf for a present, working on the quilt every day, and started an embroidery after a drawing my favorite three year old has done. I showed it at crit group the other night and we all agreed her typical schema is advanced for her age (natch!) so it must be immortalized. I decided that I will spend one hour on each project in rotation so I don't get bored- none are feeding my creativity, but all are sort of fun to work on. This new working rule will get me through them all without getting too bored or overworking an aspect. One can hope. Since these are all gifts I won't photograph them for awhile. And I am off to seek a *healthy way to express my truth, whatever that may be.
