Suggested Christmas Presents for anyone named Sandy
the current series of obsessions
Isn't this the BEST fishbowl you've ever seen? Available HERE, and your little fishy will thank you. Maybe you could put his wee Christmas tree under the bigger 'mountain'- just an idea. Dentist patted me on the head and told me I was a good girl for not biting him yesterday. And I passed with flying colors. How I dread getting teeth cleaned because they always unearth some major looming problem that costs me $2000. This time though, nada. I am a happy camper to not have to see them for 6 months.
Since I was down in the area I hiked on over to the art store to grab some more encaustic boards. I have an idea for the next series as a way to use all my sky photos so now I can start messing with wax again to get that underway. As soon as I get the Four Turkeys quilt wrestled into submission. So much to do! Unfortunately the art store is next to a consignment store so that took some more time as I poked through dead ladies clothes. I ended up buying a bag full of stuff and all good deals. The consignment shops are now lined with fancy dresses for balls and expensive cocktail dresses, never over size 2, as well as amazing shoes with no scuffs on the bottoms because the prior owners never had to wa wa walk anywhere but on soft carpets. But it looks like all their stuff is being unloaded lately, a sign of the times. And I am the Turkey Vulture to take advantage. Because I have no pride and happily wear these old clothes that no one else has worn! I actually found a friend's gorgeous hand dyed charmeuse silk jacket that she had made years ago. I really wanted it but already have a closet full of 'art clothes' that haven't gotten enough play, and the $160 was just too much to add on to an already too large collection. But I wish I had it! Well, I wish that I was going somewhere fancy enough to wear it actually, cause it was a beauty. So I got some retail therapy in yesterday and am feeling pretty perky today having gotten that out of my system.
And I am off now to take my purchase over to the studio and meet up with my stitching group for a few hours. Hopefully that will be enough socializing to hold me for a few days and I can concentrate on the damn turkeys again. So, off I go with my carafe of coffee and a good attitude, something new!
