Huge Careen

And a few more baby bunnies, how can I resist?

Here's that 'new subject' line again

This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for theQueensland Gallery of Modern Ar, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. How great is this?
First step. bright white paint on everything.

Next step-  give out thousands of round stickers for kids to go at it.

 No surface goes unattended!

Until THIS happens!  How simple, how wonderful!  Notice how it's so thick at 'kid height'?

Isn't this cool? One of my favorite musical artists, Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls) heard about this installation while she's in Australia and last week held an impromptu concert in that space. On twitter she asked all the attendees to wear solids to the show. The pictures on her blog (scroll to the bottom of this post: http://blog.amandapalmer.net/post/15435816009/i-hate-amanda-infinity-net

She also invited the attendees to cover her with stickers. Brilliant all around!
