screechy gestalt debility #1620

Chuck Close said," Inspiration is for amateurs, everyone else just shows up and works."

Sandy's Book Section, a new and continuing series:
The Bookseller has announced recipient of the Diagram Prize for the oddest book title of the year. The winner is Goblinproofing One's Chicken Coop.  The title won 38% of the public vote, fighting off competition from fellow contenders
How Tea Cosies Changed the World
and (drum roll here)
God's Doodle: The Life and Times of the Penis.
I know I'm putting both of these on my own Amazon list.

                     Sandy's Web Recommendations,
                   another new and continuing series:
note:  both 'new and continuing series' are going to be random in their appearances.

Tattoo Lady: Isobel Varley is the most tattooed senior woman
in the world with around 75% of her body tattooed.

The photos in the series “In Pieces” depict typical scenes of Americana but with a curious twist—each photo features one or more LEGO sculptures hidden in plain sight. The series is a collaboration between photographer Dean West and artist Nathan Sawaya—Sawaya made the LEGO sculptures for the series and West created the digitally composited photographs and inserted the sculptures.

Yarn-bombing… mushroom style! American artist Leigh Martin makes these little wooly fungi, and places them in nature. I wish she left them there for awhile, but I suppose that wouldn’t be very eco-friendly. It sure would be cool to unexpectedly see her work while out for a leisurely walk in the woods!

With it's interesting review in The Economist, I ordered God's Doodle. Thanks, Sandy...always informative.

I must protest. Goblins ≠ fairies. On the other hand, I might have to look into the tea cozy, since I am a big fan of those...

But seriously. Goblins. Worth dealing with. Fairies... our friends.
