portraiture cravat hydroelectric

RIP, Lilly
(Do dress up, just don't dress like her)

"If you want to have clean ideas, change them as often as you change your shirts."

RIP, Annette.  She was who I wanted to be back in 1955.

(Note:  I'd have a little memorial to Margaret Thatcher too but she never much entered my life on a personal level.  RIP, Margaret.)

Barnett Newman:Lace Curtain for Mayor Daley, a grid of barbed wire across a cor-ten window frame. Newman made it for a series of protest exhibitions hastily organized by Richard Feigen and Claes Oldenburg, after Chicago police attacked anti-war protestors at the Democratic National Convention. [Oldenburg was one of those beaten.] Annalee gave Lace Curtain to the Art Institute of Chicago in 1989, which has exhibited it only rarely.

This work is from the paper-folding series, Between the Folds, by Chilean born, London based artist Francisca Prieto. These sweet little birds are from pages of “A History of British Birds, 1870″, but now they are catalogued in an entirely new way… a delicate origami, tiny hidden window kind of way!  And also a series of old building renderings make a mono-shaded piece.

Hallway Swimmer-  maybe what's wrong with education today?
