alumni pinto angular

No, I am NOT going to the suburbs of Buffalo for the third high school reunion in a row.  Somebody counted wrong and we went a year early, then the class behind us offered to piggy-back onto their reunion last year, and now this year there's another one just in case we missed the first two.  Huh?

Obstacles cannot crush me; every obstacle yields to firm resolve.  Leonardo

Saturday Henry Miller Rule:   4.  Work according to Program and not according to mood.  Stop at the appointed time.  Nope, Henry, I don't agree.  I say work like all hell when the need strikes, and take time off when it just isn't happening.  But this doesn't preclude actually showing up at the studio every day just in case there's a surprise visit from the work fairy.

My book!  Well, not 'mine' like I wrote it, but MINE like I have a page IN it.  Now available on Amazon HERE.  And beautifully done as Lark books all are.  (see illustration on my sidebar for the alternate cover with a neck!)

ummm. 'toasted'!  Maybe this was controlling weight in Americans for years, then when 'they' decided we shouldn't smoke anymore, we ballooned up!  i have a friend who says he is going to start smoking again when he turns 80 because at that point, WTF?  Me?  I'm gonna start eating cannolis when I turn 80, and will have them at every meal.  Fried, sweet, crunchy, smooth-  just about everything but salty all wrapped up in one.  Hey, sorta like a cigarette!

The dog's annual vet appointment was yesterday and you never heard such crying from any kid as Pepper went through.  Talk about anxiety, poor guy.  Molly was a trooper but shaking in her boots the whole time but both are fine and all up to date on everything and I am out (are you sitting down?) EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS.  They did get 6 months of tick repellant, but still...  I've been trying for all the time we've had Mr. Pepper to get them on a single schedule, but now I think I need to stagger their appointments for my bank health.  Geesh. Hope they take care of themselves because if there is anything catastrophic ahead, they will just have to let nature take it's course.

Stayed up way too late last night knitting and watching that id channel where women always seduce rich men and then kill them, sometimes in a series, like a spider I guess.  I think it's amazing that they can find enough cases to make an all-day, all-night channel out of them.  There sure are a lot of manipulative sociopathic women and dumb-ass inept rich men waiting to be taken advantage of out there.  I love these programs, makes me feel SO NORMAL(ish).  I've never manipulated anything, never killed anybody, never absconded with the Jamaican gardener, wouldn't know how to get rid of the blood evidence...guess I should probably be taking notes.

Maybe I should send these to the id channel to save a few lives?

But back in Reality, where it's sometimes hard to venture, I only knit yesterday, didn't get to the appliqué because the sun never came out while I was in the mood to sit down.  It's getting harder as I am finishing off the edges and venturing into the center where it's harder to get a grip.  Today I have the afternoon free and plan on getting a few more square inches done, stitch by tiny stitch.  Oy.  The thing I gravitate to knitting for is that I don't have to pay as much attention other than occasionally counting, and can watch tv.  Before I hit the id channel, I watched the end of the first season of Downton Abbey, about three episodes back to back when I hit the Netflix wall and there were no more!  Headed over to On-Demand where I demanded the second season and got it!  I'm not an episode or two into Season 2 where we are all at war.  More later today, sad as it is.

'Release' is a set of paper boats by Nicole Crock, mounted with a miniature replica of a particular house that she has called home.  The houses that are left behind are carefully remembered and recreated, take boat form, and are released in bodies of water close to their symbiotic real life counterparts. They live only in the documentation of their launch. Go to her site to see them launched!

Leg Hair Stockings, in case, sadly, you can't grow your own.

Does this fall under the TMI category?
