diamagnetic hart contralateral

We see only what the others see. We've agreed to be part of a collective perception.

William Lamson   works with sugar.  he cooks it to varying temperatures and laminated the hot caramel between hot glass, then seals the dges and uses it to build haunting structures like this.

So today I went out to the Fabric Place 2.0, the Basement and spent some money on flannel to make a couple of receiving blankets for a new baby.  i saw an interesting technique om YouTube that finishes it off in a half hour, complete with reversible mitered binding so I got enough flannel for two.  If it really does work I'll make a few more.  After that I had to find a graduation present and deliver it for a party I am missing tomorrow, so spent some time schmoozing there, plus some shopping time and a visit to a card store, my day was pretty much shot.  I simply can't believe the t raffia up here-  by 11 or so the roads were simply impassable, even the Turnpike.  I also bought some yarns for a new project, bamboo this time-  it has a lovely drape and isn't blended with hot wool or alpaca so I should be able to wear it.  After that I raced home because one of the carpenters who was working on the condo a few months back took my inlaid wood cutting board because he anted to refinish it-  after years here some of the laminated colored woods were shrinking a bit and the glue was failing.  It was beautiful all over again, and frankly I was thrilled because I really never thought I'd see it again.

So tonight I'm cleaning the kitchen and wiping down evidence of being here, packing up, and calling to say goodbye to a few people.  Charging up my devices, hope I dont' forget their cords at the last minute, and I'll see you Monday.  Maybe.
Liht Saber Knitting Needles above, and
NeuroKnitting next!

NeuroKnitting [knitic.com] by Varvara Guljajeva, Mar Canet, and Sebastian Mealla consists of a collection of knitted garments that represent the wearer's affective and cognitive states while listening to Bach's Goldberg Variations' aria and its first 7 variations.First the EEG correlates of relaxation, engagement and cognitive load were recorded while people were listening to the musical piece. This information was then used by an open hardware knitting machine Knitic to create a bicolor pattern for knitting several scarves. The knitted garments thus visualize the listener's affective and cognitive states as a unique and personalized textile pattern.

One more thing-  I have given Arrested Development a second chance and am enjoying it a lot, like the first three seasons!  I guess the first couple of episodes were very different and I just couldnt follow along, but now I'm up to speed.

For my good friends who have a birthday coming up in the next few days-  hope you get everything you deserve in the year coming up, hope you are happy and healthy, and somebody brings you a cake!  And along with my friends, it's Gary's birthday again tomorrow too.  He's on my mind because I found all the letters he wrote to me after I left home for college.  Long ago and far away.
