siberian rockford extorted

A work of art when placed in a gallery loses its charge, and becomes a portable object…

HORRORS:  Today is another turning point on your continuing journey of change. However, there could be a lot of internal movement that remains invisible to others now. Your current dreams hold significant keys to your future, even if they seem disconnected from the practicalities of everyday life. But there's no need to share your visions with anyone else yet. Keeping up outer appearances gives you plenty of room to pursue your meaningful inner work.

I spent all yesterday afternoon at the studio working on the (current) twins project, and made some serious headway, mostly on background.  Unfortunately the doggie dinnertime interfered or I'd probably still be there.  I really like my quilts to stay at this particular intuitive stage, not all overworked and spiffy-  hope I can hold on to what I've got and just build from this.  I found some cabana stripe heavy cotton that will be the backing-  it came from Goodwill and had shower curtain plastic along the top edge which I excised.  This is quite perfect except when I started chopping at it I discovered some pretty bad mildew stains.  I brought it home to bleach, wash, repeat, oxiclean, soak, repeat the bleach and use the color catcher sheets.  Nothing worked so I decided to use it anyway.  Maybe patches over the stains?

Anyway, off to work right after a stop at Petco, a stop at Publix (have to take an appetizer to a party tomorrow), and Goodwill drive-by of 4 (FOUR!!) lawn-and-leaf bags of stuff culled from my closet.  The scary thing is I cannot even tell, still have too much jammed in there.

And oh yeah, today the quilters descend on me at the studio so I have to clean my toilet-  seems the color dump has moved in there after I 'colorized' my big laundry sink-  magenta and green streaks around the rim don't look very sanitary.  Just like home, nothing like a little company to get things back on track cleaning wise.

I had a few minutes to kill and needed to add some fusible web to the back of some fabric I need to fussy-cut for the twins piece.  So I had it all laid out on the ironing table and covered it with parchment paper and ironed away.  Only to find I had used a piece of tracing paper which is now completely fused to the back of my fabric making a hideous krinkly sound when touched.  I could scream.  Stupid mistakes when I'm in a hurry.  I tried to remove it but it's on there like paint on a wall, going no where.  If you see a quilt of mine DO NOT try to fold it because it will sound like it's stuffed with newspapers.  Not even done and I am discounting the price.  Oy.

Overboard in the spray tan department.  Looks like a hairless Yeti.

I've been looking forward to this afternoon for several weeks now-  one of the gals I met up with at the SAQA day in Melbourne was bringing her design group over for a look-see at what I'm doing and 6 of them showed up!  And they brought me cookies the size of my huge head.  I ran through all my errands in the morning, everything but getting gas which I am hoping I have enough of to make it to the station at the end of the street when I leave the studio!  I got my shopping done, got the dog food bought, and TOILET BOWL CLEANER.  so I wasn't ashamed if anybody had to pee (they didn't.)  We talked about all sorts of stuff and found connections to my original little group I was in when we first moved down here.  One woman was the daughter of a woman back then, another knew all the original members.  This group does challenges for each other rather than act as a crit so I won't be a regular member but it's still nice to know there are people around who know what the hell I am talking about so I hope we can get together to... umm... talk about it once in awhile!

So, needless to say I have been a bizzy person all day and haven't had my usual surfing time to get this out on the inter webs!  All I have are these saved photoshops but I have lost the sources.  Bad me.

And the mighty Guinilion, hear him roar.
For some reason my stats are spiking the last two days, can't be anythiing I said, seems that the Googlebot is visiting me every minute and a half.  I feel like the NSA might be behind it because of course this is all in code for my subordinates to decipher.  Speaking of code, did you read that the newest translation of StarWars is now out in Navajo!  This is so cool, after all the code they did in WWII, finally they are getting their language back, admittedly in a small way, but whatever works to not lose the culture and keep the  words alive.

But, before I leave, remember the little guinea pig in his eBay suit of armor I featured the other day?

Bidding is now at TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.  The good news about this is the note at the bottom of the sale page that 100% of the price will be donated to Guinea Pig Rescue, after eBay costs, of course.
That;s a lot of guinea pigs.

When my son was in Ecuador with the Amigos de las Americas program he told of how they run everywhere, and when it's dinner time and the pot is boiling, whoever is closest is thrown in the pot.  Don't think that Guinea Pig Rescue has a branch in Ecuador.
cui, cui cui!

I have eaten Guinea pig. Not my favorite thing, but not the worst thing either.
