  • Have goals and faithfully serve them in a way that honors the process.   Eric Maisel

Well, thanks to those of you that checked the doll yesterday-  if you missed it, scroll down to the last post to see the image.  Nobody had any information but perhaps somebody knows somebody to forward the picture to that may be able to set us on the right trail.

I've had some complaints about the comment situation here but I have two settings-  the one I use where you have to fill in their stupid captcha code or a direct comment that allows everybody and his Russian robot bride to leave comments, and that means 30 a day I have to weed through, lots in Chinese characters.  So, sorry about that.  Of course you can easily comment by just firing off an email-  address over there to the left, and that way I will be sure to get it and answer!

Overstepping Artifacts is the latest fractalized music video from French animator and musician Alexandre Lehmann (aka Ricardo Montalban or Zzzzra) as part of his ongoing Musicians with Guns series. The clip is the definition of ‘otherworldly,’ and was created using special fractal software that results in morphing forms that seem part organic and part architectural.)

You can travel farther carried on the accomplishments of those who came before you. And the view is so much better.

I got all my orchids repotted yesterday, a big job.  I cleaned out two huge pots where I have stuck a few, but couldn't remove the root ball with any safety, so I just pruned off dead stuff and gave it a good layer of new moss.  But I was able to repot seven other plants in new clay pots that have buds ready to go.  They now all look great, and I'll just sit around watching them grow up supported by their new bamboo stakes.  These are a decade worth of orchids that I cannot toss out, so I have just stuck them as-is under some foundation plantings so they get filtered light and they love it there.  Every year I get blooms returning, though the plants look pretty scrappy with snail bites and ratty leaves.  I'll report on new blooms if they stay happy with me.  Benign Neglect is my MO!  I love orchids...

Now, in honor of it being actual beach weather again down here in Fla-fla land:

Inspired by chalk drawings on pavement, New Zealand artist Jamie Harkins has recently embarked on a new project, creating a series of large 3D sand drawings on local beaches. With the help from fellow artists Lucia Lupf, David Rendu and Constanza Nightingale, Harkins draws large design on the sand, which when viewed from the right angle transform into amazing graphic illusion.

  • In his ongoing series of photos titled Moon Games, French photographer Laurent Lavender has subjects play with a rising moon, effectively tansforming it into a balloon, a painting, and even a scoop of ice cream. The dreamlike photos have been turned into a calendar and a (French-only) book of poetry as well as a few other objects. You can see more of his work over on Facebook.

    Chocolate??? hmmmmm
