Acanthus Indentation

Daybreak today.

Nothing like being awakened by a dog standing on your chest looking down at you, especially if it isn't quite light yet. But when ya gotta go, ya gotta go. TY got her hooked up and called me out to the courtyard to see the sunrise so I ran back inside to grab the camera. Amazing, eh? I got a million.

Walked with the Nazi this mornng and found out she is going back to Staten Island tomorrow until after the holidays. This is a double edged sword. On the Good Side, I don't have to do the 3 mile walk every morning at dawn until she gets back, but the Bad Side is I WON'T do the 3 mile walk every etc etc etc. And as much as I hate to admit it, it does me good. Today she brought over 2 eggs and a couple of stalks of celery and 2 hideous cookies she cleaned out from her refrigerator.

I had to go replenish the wine glass supply today at Crate and Barrel but got there and discovered they have about ten models of big balloon wine that are all just slightly different, so now I have to return with a glass so I can match it up. One step foward, two steps back.

Meanwhile I got some party clothes for the upcoming social whirl I find myself involved in. I found a great jean jacket with gold lace on it and an olive satin peasant skirt, also a red velvet shirt with a red lace scarf. I am pretty much set and I finally got to use my $50 Bloomies credit. I think I will go back to Saks and buy a couple of ornaments to have on hand to take to these get-togethers- I saw one that was outrageous today- it was in the shape of a huge catepillar, absolutely disgusting. I actually thought I would buy something a bit more staid since it's for other people's trees- I am the gal with the pickle and potato ornaments afterall. No way do I want to drag my Christmas stuff down here so I will content myself with a Home Depot wreath for the front gate and my wicker tomato light string on the fake palm in the living room. Festive R Us.

Had a big can of crabmeat that was too good to serve the HGFH so we ate it up tonight in the form of some terrific crabcakes- I mixed a pound of lump crab with 2 eggs and a minced onion and pablano with a handfull of corn kernals. perfect. And the Nazi had given me a few tablespoons of sour cream so I mixed that with Dijon and that was the sauce. Easy.

So, do you want more pictures? Huh? Huh? Awww, OK, here's a few more from this morning.
