Back to Work

Enough already with the fireworks. Last night's display was certainly not the pro level of last year, but still it is fun to watch from a nice pool deck with a glass of champagne in hand.

Dick Clark droned on the tv inside but didn't grab much of the audience after an initial glance. Poor guy looked embalmed. And I thought it a cheap trick to garner ratings by not telling anyone about what his reappearance might involve: 'he will not be in a wheelchair', 'he will be involved', etc. To me it looked like he had cuecards to count backwards from 10. America's Oldest Teenager... guess I am next in line now. And WHAT is with Mariah Carey? She is trying for America's Fattest Diva apparently- I admit she has the voice, but I could NOT believe all her posing and stroking of herself. Get over it. It was also a great advertisement for Photoshop because that is what she relies on for her album covers- gimme a strettttttttttttttsh here and a tuck there... fake glitter tan, new big boobs, and hair extentions. Nothing like the natural look.

OK, I am over that- now I am all about getting this 'uglie' quilt top finished by next Saturday for the teacher's talk to sell the class. And frankly, this isn't gonna sell anything! Here is the progression so far, pardon the additions of the Adorable Molly- she insisted on joining the photo session.

And finally, me looking for the sympathy vote with a picture of my totally inadequate studio down here. This is the reason we need to build the new house, well, one of the reasons. MY reason. Oh, yeah, and I want a better kitchen with a real gas stove, concrete countertops and bigger refrigerator too. And no vertical blinds. And a heated pool while we're at it. And a den where TY can lock himself in and listen to opera or watch golf when he's not playing golf. And maybe a glass staircase with exposed construction forms...

I thought that Dick clark was pretaped and made to look like he was actually there. You are right it was pathetic!! That quilt is not ugly, by the way.
