I've spent the morning answering e-mails and comments on this blog- thanks for all the nice messages, but as far as I am concerned it's over- of course it might have been nice to hear from Monica, but then again I am a snot or a snob or something I cannot remember. Getting old has it's perks and I might forget the whole thing by dinner.
One perk it doesn't have is sound- we went to see Denzel last night in 'Inside Job' and it was so loud I had to keep my hands over my ears through most of it. Sort of a Spike Lee video game movie but I did like that there wasn't alot of violence (there was hpowever PERCEIVED violence which is just as stomach churning. I think I would give it a 'C' overall, but Denzell gets a 'B' so the overall is maybe a 'B-'. We saw it at the new Cobb theater in the Downtown Mall so had our choice of food beforehand and ended up in a City Kitchens which had only been open a week. I had an appetizer which turned out to be THREE roast beef sandwiches, admittedly small, but too many for me- delicious. They had Boursin cheese and pickled onions on them. And of course the Amstel helped.
Our anniversary was Friday and we spent it riding back from Sarasota with a very tired dog flopped half on, half off the back seat. The Yogi gave me a pin with Molly wrought in gold and it even has silver wires representing her little spots- I love it, couldn't be a more perfect present for me. Today I was able to scrape off the offending plates without too much angst and now I can re-do them since I know what I did wrong before. I just can't sign them until they are in better shape. I've printed out a pile of my photographs and now will go get all glue-y so they can dry overnight. Then tomorrow I think I will clean out the glass department at Crate and Barrel once and for all. I have 3 new rust prints and I re-did the 4 sky pictures as well as 2 new sky-and-palm pictures. Oh yes- also I printed some of the Banyon tree at the dogpark- I had one tree trunk and did maybe thirty pictures of it- they all look like parts of an elephant!

And last but not least, a life-long goal was reached the other day when I found a purse plaited from candy wrappers in a consignment shop! My mom made one of these over a very long time from hre L&M wrappers, then my daughter plaited bracelets out of gum wrappes. So the candy influence fpor me is perfect. I had started a discussion about these after seeing one in an African imp[ort store but priced out of my 'funky nostalgic' range. Here is tis:

And now I am done, have to go make beds for guests arriving tomorrow. Carry on.

Sandy, I found a coin purse on etsy.com made with candy wrappers and remembered this post: http://www.etsy.com/view_item.php?listing_id=140418 While it's not nearly as nice as this one (and made in Mexico rather than Africa), it may fit the budgetary requirements . . . Carol Dean
