Here are my out-takes for the numerals project for Inspire-Me-Thursday. I'm late because the scanner crapped out the other night and I couldn't get the images up.

The final selection can be found hereon my blog dedicated to current projects and challenges. Not much there yet, but growing steadily.
Got up at 4:30 this morning when TY left for San Franscisco- he took his boot so if any of you out there on that coast see this on some guy with a beard, run on up and pretend you know him! Since TY getting up got her all confused, I had to walk Molly at 4:30, I was the one in my jammies and flip flops out there at that o:dark thirty hour- and since I was up and ready to go I thought I would put the time to good use and take the digitals for Nancy since I *forgot* to pick up her slides on Tuesday. Luckily enough I hadn't lost her quilts yet as they were locked in my car, safe from even meI I found my old black felt for the backdrop, part was missing but I managed to come up with a larger piece I didn't know I had. Sounds like I can just put my finger on anything I need, right? Ha.
I got the backdrop up and the quilt ready to photograph but it was still dark out so drank coffee awhile and waitied for daylight. Took one quilt and put the images into Photoshop but my hand was unsteady and they weren't crisp so I re-took them all with a nice ladder bracing the camera- much better. Then I set up the second quilt, a tryptich that I wasn't sure of the order, and went at it. By the time I got the details taken and checked, then re-taken, it was 10- time flies when you don't have enough of it! But I got them done, all manipulated and cropped the way they should be, then smaller versions for the web made, and finally I got it burned to a CD. I had some trouble with this as my computer balks at new CDs, and in the process somehow I whacked the print button so I ended up with a printed copy of one of Nancy's details, though just on regular typing paper. Never one to waste a thing, that became the CD cover.
While I was making the last cut on the cover to make it fit the case, the phone rang and it was David. He will be home tonight, will meet me in the studio at 8 AM tomorrow and give me Nancy's slides! Don'tcha just love it when a plan comes together?
So, in between waiting for things to load and print I got the bills paid and two letters written, I got my Quilt Museum promises kept, I talked to two wrong number calls, made plans for next Monday's dinner out, AND it wasn't even 11 o'clock. Guess I got the worm, eh?
Oh the other thing I did, while looking for the black felt backdrop, was to haul all the rolls of quilts down off the armoire top and unroll them looking for one specific little piece I can't find:

These were made as a set but one of them sold out of a show last year, and now I have a buyer for the second one but I am damned if I can find it! It says: "You can't always get what you want" embroidered on the first one, then: "But you always get what you need" on the second. They are pattern pieces and vintage silks collaged and (machine) stitched together with lots of pearl buttons. If you see it, call me. Geeze.
My last Photoshop class is tonight, cannot wait for this to be over- it's easier for me to simply look up whatever it is I need to do. So, to kill this time, while the backdrop is on the wall and there isn't any direct sun, I think i will take some more photos!
