Coeternal Unionist

Above-60th birthday cakes for Duane, Muhardra, and Tim. I don't know these people.

I'm making up my shopping list for the 15 people coming for dinner for Ralph's birthday next Monday. I don't have 15 chairs, have no clue what I will do about this, but he wants his 'whole' family. Guess some of them can stand up in the kitchen with me and look over the counter. Hey, even if I had enough chairs, my table is only big enough for 12 crowded! Oh, did I mention that both my kids are bringing their dogs? One is a pitbull, the other is a 100# HORSE of a thing. Both completely ignore Molly- and she buzzes around them both like a demented mosquito. Oy. I called to order TY's favorite cheesecake, Boston Creme Pie Cheesecake, but it was discontinued 5 months ago- he will be sorely disappointed. I begged the baker, offered to come 'help' or could she get me the recipe, nope. But I found this on-line from Colettes Cakes:
A HAM cake! Poifect.

Of course things are already going wrong- the Quilters Connection annual Show n' Tell is the same night and I had planned on having flyers available to drive the herds to Acton to my show next month- now I will have to make the flyers and have someone else announce and take them. I hate missing this meeting, but perhaps people will leave early and I can get into the end of it-- who am I kidding, I will be too tired to leave a sink full of dishes and take off! Nuts. I love seeing people's new stuff AND for once I have some things to take.

Very interesting article in BusinessWeek about how business schools are looking to design programs for ways to influence creative thinking. They included a list of the most infulential design schools and the business schools they are partnered with and Mass Art is on the list!

You know my 'rule of 3' by now, right? It's simply that is some subject or name or idea hits me in sequence three times in succession that it's time to sit up and take notice. Well, I had a Rule of FOUR hit yesterday. Paris.

1. I am saving the big 2 page Paris spread in the Sunday NYTs about PAris at night. I was thinking of Tonny through the whole article (actually having her there is maybe a #5 hit in the head!). 2. Also, I accidentally found an old 'This American Life' episode that had Ira Glass in Paris interviewing David Sedaris and an American black woman who is a lawyer there and was talking about the racial differences, and 3. always the charm, the David Liebowitz blog arrived in my bloglines. Then, finally #4, clicking through channels there were Stacy and Clinton in Paris with a woman who won a $50,000 spending spree! And she was kinda chunky so not everybody there is a size 2- she did spend an awful; lot on shoes and bags though... I AM going to go back, next time with real money (first I must contact Stacy and Clinton...) and a list of SHOPS and RESTAURANTS. And I am going to hit them all. And also do my own 'strolls along the quais and rues", hopefully gnawing on a baquette.
