Some Real Business

There is a new Joanie San Chirico review over on Art Quilt Reviews of the Fiber Revolution show at Georgian Court University. The interesting thing is that it is a pretty thorough look at so many quilt shows and how they are presented, and it ain't pretty. She sites several successful pieces, but finds the majority trite and certainly not cutting edge as this group preports to be. Apparently tha article has been well circulated according to the stats, and looking at the comments one would wonder why it has taken so long for someone to stand up and ask where the Emporers clothes are! Thanks Joanie, for a well written and honest review. it is only through efforts like yours that the whole art quilt gestalt can suck it up, be professional, and improve.

If you haven't read it, do so now- I will wait...

I read it and it pretty much confirms my decision to shy away from entering non-juried, old gals club type shows.

Like many folks, I don't get to travel to every show I'm lucky to get into. I think I would have freaked to see this one. Pegboards...sheesh.
