Inhale Municipal Millie

This is a ruler bracelet by Connie Verrusio, the bracelet version of the ring I had for a day and a half before it disappeared off my hand somewhere between here and Ipswich MA. I bought it at the Philadelphia Craft Show, but had to go through every jeweler to find who made it since I threw out all my receipts- don't ask...

ANYway, on Monday I got a call from my daughter that they had seen a house they loved in Ipswich and she wanted me to come up to see it. I had to pick up the dog from the kennel, grab some food and gas, deliver food to my refrigerator, and hike on up to the netherwoods to pick her up. I remember having the ring on on the way up there. So, I was in Beverly and unloaded stuff I had been holding for my daughter, leashed up the dog and walked around the car a few times. I went inside and was confronted with her house-horse, a huge sweet Baby Huey of a dog, still in his puppyhood, and VERY excited to have Molly to play with. I walked into the kitchen, dining room, and living room. I hit the bathroom, we went back outside and I rode with them up to Ipswich in the front of their car. We got to the house and we walked around the big yard, we went through all three floors and down to the basement, we went outside again, then inside again. I rode back to Beverly in the back seat, transferred back to my car and hit the road home. It was about halfway I noticed no ring on my hand.

So, today I found the artist and contacted her to see if she has another one or can make me one- and of course this will double it's value because I am paying twice for the same thing!

So, my week along has been exciting- I have been getting update calls every hour from my daughter about the offer process and things look good for them but I am not going to jinx it just yet. The house is adorable, and I am very glad they have moved into the next century- the last batch of houses were all built in the early 1700's, this one is practically brand new, built in 1830! The great thing is that is has new (2005)fancy baths and kitchen and much restoration and renovation work has been completed yet it retains the charm of the old that they are attracted to. And from 23 years of experience, that 'charm of the old' grows real thin as water is pouring down your living room walls or the toilets stop working.

I certainly hope they get it because it's very near Woodmans- and that means I can have a steady diet of fried clams every time I visit. Yum.
