I think I forgot to tell you about the pork and clam dinner that Fred made me last night- deee-lich! But I am a sucker for Portugese food anyway, so he had me at the sizzle. It was intresting- I have always used chorica but he used pork meat in chunks with lots of spice added, a tasty change. I must be a good guest so I get asked back again and again. They are always so good about that when I am alone in town- hope they know how it is appreciated. And if left to my own devices it would be three straight meals fo mac and cheese, so in a very small way, they are saving the planet from another high cholesterole victim.
Spent the afternoon with Mandy looking through wallpaper books at 'Sherman Williams' - I remember seeing some great wallpapers when I was looking for myself but geesh, we sure saw a lot of crud today. What we did do was steal paint chips by the dozens, not a very productive rainy day AND it meant I didn't get back to Bloomingdales with my $25 black card, which is now expired. Bummer. Also, I didn't get back to 'The Buck Stops Here'- the name I have given to my latest project. I was just transferring the drawing when I got the call so abandoned it all in a heap for an interior design emergency.
Sylvia called and is having a few folks who are hanging around over for lunch tomorrow, so I made more of the ricotta fritters to take. Here they are, my own modification of what I think I saw Jamie Oliver do on Martha one day last week-
Ricotta Fritters
1# (fresh) ricotta
1 egg
2- 3 Tbs. flour
salt, pepper, nutmeg
Mix all together well. Heat a fryng pan with some olive oil and drop in spoonfulls of the ricotta mix. Do not disturb until you can see little browned edges, then flip each over. They will look like little pancakes. Serve warm with salsa or chopped tomatos as an appetizer, or add to the top of salad greens and dress with olive oil and lemon juice.
I didn't actually write it down but this worked the first time just fine, the second time I could have added more flour (or used that really good artisnal ricotta again).
I was reading Art Quilt Reviews a minute ago and there is a draft of a review about my show but I am damned if I can get into WordPress to read it. I've tried everything I can think of. I do not like WordPress because of it's unnecessary complications- guess this about frosts it for me. If you know where the 'drafts' folder might be, please notify me so I know whether to go find a hole and change my name or buy a new outfit.
And speaking of my show (and I haven't spoken lately about much else, have I?), I have to go to a QC meeting tomorrow night to distribute more postcards- think I will take the whole pack and just leave them on a main table and hope people pick them up- or, even better, GO to the show! I will recruit a gaggle of gurls tomorrow to sit in the front row and stiffle yawns. The speaker seems to be very interested in setting up her sale table. Sure hope that somewhere in the evening she stuffs some content.

Hope you're well! I'm not sure the reviews are worth reading btw.
