Well, today is recycling day here in the tropics and I found- um- a FIND as I was out on my walk this morning_ here are a few views:
Don't these look like models for the Hopi cliff houses? I don't yet know what I will do with them, maybe priint them and hand color... maybe add some teensy people for scale... maybe collage them together just for the value changes. I plan on taking more photos tomorrow if the sun is strong- I would love to see these in high contrast. I take suggestions, sometimes graciously.
Had a real treat today because TY actually suggested going to the Norton to see the display of Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. It was an amazing display for me because I had never seen any of these paintings before- some were parts of series I was familiar with, but it was very exciting to see a whole new (to me) exhibit.
BUT I got blown away by another exhibit they had there through May 27th- the clothes of Iris Apfel. If you are ANYWHERE near West Palm Beach, you simply must see these clothes. They are all displayed on mannequins with the accessories and jewelery (incredible designer pieces mixed with huge chunky ethnic pieces) that she put together. All I could think of was the sorry old Bernina/Fairfield fashion show! Folks, if you plan of ever sewing again, see this collection, or at the very least buy the accompanying book: "Rare Bird of Fashion The Irreverent Iris Apfel"
