Mechanically Festooned Scribe

Some days I just love the internet...

Funny thing happened yesterday, I got an email out of the blue from a woman named Peg. She wanted to know if I knew anything about a little picture of flowers that has a signature of 'Sandy Townsend' running up one of the stems. She says it is in a white frame. I wrote back and told her that I don't remember any such animal and I have been Sandy Donabed for 35 years now, also that I have pretty much lived my life along the New York State Thruway and the Mass Turnpike, so if she got it in that area perhaps it was something very old of mine I have forgotten.

She returned the following:

Dear Sandy,
I bought it at a thrift store in Phoenix several years ago...
here businesses and citizens find our tax write off is better to donate than
to try to sell individually...this may be that old.....pre nuptial...smile...

Oh-oh. My parents lived outside of Phoenix for many years and sold their house about 10 years ago- yup, sold it furnished! And my mother was particularly fond of white frames. I told her to send a digital or scan it and I will tell her anything I remember about it, but most assuredly it must be my art from the era
above- can't wait to see it. (Photo of my mom, her friends and their
hats from the 60's)

You never know where things will end up. Hope she paid a bundle for it...
